It's obvious that the A's are tanking their way OUT of Oakland. Don't be surprised if they don't play in Oakland anymore. It's pretty clear that they are not staying in Oakland.
I'm so confused by this. The A's went from wanting teams to give them the farm for Murphy…to this. They went from asking for way too much to asking for nothing inside of a week.

Mets are old. Nimmo for 8 years???? Imagine what he will be in just 4 years. An injured slap hitter who cant throw a baseball more than 50ft. Braves just got 10% better and that is scary. Phils lineup when Harper returns is scary. Lindor can't hit playoff pitching and Polar Bear will try so hard he grips the bat and it snaps. And his baserunning needs coaching. He looks like he's gonna tear every muscle in his groin or trip head 1st rounding the bags. We must go the Dbacks route of attack. Athletic, speed, defense, bat to ball skills. LOVE Jett but lindor will block him and he will be traded for a bat come August.

If A's had brought down their asking price from the Cardinals, they would have gotten better prospects from them. Cardinals probably would have traded Gorman and Burleson vs Trading Nootbaar and Donovan. Obviously, the Cards are high on Nootbaar and Donovan, but would have been willing to give up gorman. A's shot themselves in the foot

Sorry dude but you’re off on this one. You cannot discuss this trade without mentioning Shea Langeliers. A’s have no success window in the next few years and Langeliers is way better offensively than Murphy, comparable defensively (dude is an absolute stud defensively), he’s younger and they’re paying him nothing. As an A’s fan I get so sick of seeing good players constantly dealt, but this was obvious mid season when Shea started getting more time. Maybe we didn’t get as much in return but Murphy was gone anyway
Contreras has 5 years of control too compared to Ruiz’s 6.
