Como Player Performs Racist Action on Hwang Hee-chan, Gets Beaten.
– The pre-season match between Como and Wolverhampton Wanderers was marked by fistfights. The racial action against Hwang Hee-chan was the trigger.
When competing in Marbella, Wolves won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Matt Doherty. Hwang was a player introduced by Wolves manager, Gary O’Neil, in the second half.

In one moment in the 68th minute, Hwang heard racial noises from a Como player. This angered Daniel Podence, who hit the Como player and immediately received a red card!

“Channy heard racist remarks, which was very upsetting,” O’Neil said in the Guardian.

“I spoke to Channy about that, checking whether he wanted the team to leave the field or him to leave the field. But, he wanted the team to continue and get the training they needed.”

“He is very disappointed, of course, and understandably so. I am proud of the fact that he wants to continue and puts the team as a priority at a difficult moment for him,” he added.

Regarding the case of racial harassment against Hwang, Wolves have submitted a direct protest to UEFA.

“Racism or discrimination in any form is unacceptable and should not go unpunished, and Wolves will submit a formal complaint to UEFA regarding this incident,” the English club said in a statement.
