Yes men like mills, Pearce, cundy, mcoist all saying southgate should decide wether he stays or goes? Southgate has failed 3 tournaments on the bounce. It’s time for a elite manager to have a go before it’s too late. Why do these pundits want Southgate to stay? Are they trying to be edgy? It doesn’t make sense
What legacy? England have more talent than 98% of all countries on earth. They have the greatest league in the world. The best "testing ground" for players. England should be feared. Southgate has achieved very little in his time in charge. Great guy, really presentable and a good manager… But it's not enough.

Southgate is like a substitute teacher i had at school he would crack jokes and have a laugh, he was a great character but he wasnt an expert in a particular subject we wojld just get on with revision or studies and c hat we would never learn anythjng se didnt already know.

I had huge admiration for Stuart Pearce as a player for obvious reasons, but his constant public backing for his mate has me losing respect fast. Southgate was a bog awful club manager and is the luckiest International manager we've ever had, it was written in the stars that we would win something over the past 6 years with the draws he had in both the world cups and the euros, his wins have come against at best average opponents and every time he competitively came up against a team closer to our level he failed miserably (Not counting Germany for obvious reasons). His wins in both world cups and the euros came against

Always fail against top teams. Beating Iran, Wales, Senegal and setting out a draw against USA, only to lose against the first powerhouse nation does not represent a success. It has been this pattern for a long time. I know we played well against France but we choked as we always do
Nobody is saying Southgate has done a bad job, what we are saying is facts:
1) He hasnt beaten a top team
2) He isnt tactically capable of doing so

The uncritical ‘love in’ that pundits have with Southgate is nauseating. The job of the England manager is to try and win a major tournament. Southgate has demonstrated, over and over again, that he’s incapable of doing it.

All this talk of 'elite manager' and this is what England should expect is futile. From a salary perspective, the England manager job is the same as the 10th best paid EPL manager. Is that going to attract an 'elite manager'? It's only a prestigious job for an Englishman, nobody else. Eddie Howe isn't going anywhere. And even so, elite club managers don't always deliver internationally. Conte for example – quarter final with Italy. Luis Enrique – semi final and a last 16 exit. It takes a bit of good fortune to win a tournament, knockout football. We've hardly been blown away in these 3 defeats. Extra time, a penalty shootout, missed penalty/poor ref decisions. Yes against France, he got the subs wrong, but just look at the details, the stats, what really was in his control. A lot he got right in that game. Also this talk of 'not beating the best teams'. Do the best teams constatly win against lesser sides? No. He has achieved some consistency over the 6 years, that other 'elite' managers haven't achived. Hope he stays for one more tournament.
Southgate has to go otherwise we won't win anything if England had tuchel it would be a different story
