De Ligt will come into United’s side and already understand what the manager wants from him resulting in him not taking as long to adjust compared to some of the other defenders the club is linked to. At just 24 years old he’s also quite experienced when looking at how long he’s been around as well as the club’s he’s played for (Ajax, Juventus, Bayern Munich). As we’ve previously mentioned too, De Ligt is also very much a leader as he was captain of THAT Ajax side under Erik ten Hag in one of the club’s more successful periods, at least in recent times. Here is how I think he would fit into this United side…

I'd give this a very solid 8. People sleeping on his potential. He has had a remarkable schooling in world football to this point and is about to enter prime years for a CB.
would be good if we get him but we need another cb. A younger one as third choice, cash in on maguire and keep lindelof as the 4th choice. Then evans and kumbwala. Could be todibo or branthwaite or hopefully yoro
Questions for Rio: if there was an element of De ligt game that you see weakness in,
A) what is it?
B) how could it liability
C) how does he work on it
I remember a similarly positive review about Onana.
I think United might get Todibo as well but it will be towards the end of the window after the issues behind his transfer are sorted out

De Ligt and Todibo to replace Lindelof and Maguire would be massive will probably keep one of them because we let Varane leave but if we want to move forward and progress sell them both and have Martinez De Ligt Todibo Kambwala Evans Fish as the options at centre back and just hope we don’t have injuries again this season if we do this and Kambwala and Fish step up will only need to replace Evans next season then we can start building the midfield and right back area

Why does ten hag keep buying his old players. It’s already shown it doesn’t work out. De Ligt is injury prone. Marc Guéhi Would be a better buy with premier league experience
