What would Gallagher’s role be? I just don’t think he’s very good at all the key measures. He’s the typical ‘combative midfielder’ in a poor team. 50% of teams have one. He can’t play but he runs around snarling and throwing in aggressive tackles. He’s a completely negative player. English football loves this sort of player. That he’s out there currently is why England will never win an egg-cup. He looks like a great player to have in a poor team. His display yesterday v Slovenia (Slovenia) got him hooked at half time because he was being outmaneuvered and outpositioned and made to look like what he was, a Championship scrapper.
