There’s no way Ronaldo is retiring when Portugal’a next two games are against Lichtenstein and Luxembourg at home. He’s not leaving 4 or 5 goals against the part time carpenters off his “record”, literally never registered a goal or an assist in the World Cup knockout round when it mattered , but if you need a man to score some tapins and penalties against Gibraltar, Lithuania, Andorra, Faroe Islands, Cyprus, Scotland, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Malta in meaningless qualifiers then this is your man.

Ronaldo had a golden opportunity to put Portugal level when he made that explosive run and his shot was on target, which maybe was his last kick in the World Cup, but the Moroccan keeper Bono saved it. Had it gone in then Portugal went on to win the match, Ronaldo would've been hailed a saviour. Football is a sport of fine margins and he's still an elite player.

Call me crazy but I still think Ronaldo is a top top player … we're a couple months away from a season where he scored 27 goals for one of the worst man united sides EVER …. he has definitely dipped but there is still no one I would rather have at the end of an opportunity.i think what is true is that he is less tactically flexible these days I think playing him in a formation where he has another striker to play off and help with pressing will prove that he can still be an elite player albeit in specific situations
