      If Argentina wins the Copa America, Messi will be in the next World Cup even if he goes as a bench warmer. If Argentina performs well but doesn't win, Messi still goes to the WC. If Messi 's performance is sub par, he probable retires from international competition and no WC. That's a lot of ifs, but take all ifs out of the equation, he will be on Argentina's team for the WC.

      I just don't understand why the pity world is behind Messi's retirement? Espn can hire some good heads instead of these junkies to say to enjoy the football coming from Leo or Argentina or any other teams and their display. Grow up, junkies! But junkie can not! Shame!

      Moreno clearly does not understand Argie mentality. They let Maradona manage the National Team. Messi will be on the National Team as long as he wants to be on it.

      Ale is right. No one knows except Leo. Man the world loves him n it will a dream come true for billions around the world if he plays. Many players can play but when he does it's a sheer joy. He is the chosen one n God bless him to participate

      I think he should be there even if hes only there for motivate or symbolically. He can play from bench and have big impact as well , i don't see why he shouldn't play at 2026 world cup unless he doesn't want to.

      He has been more injured in the last two seasons and at this age its natural to expect a slow down. No I dont expect Messi to play in 2026. I expect a good performance in the copa

      I think we are talking about the fact that Messi has recurrent injuries, it is not about the game. He loves the game. The Argentina fans a very judgmental. They dogged him for years and he almost quit playing for them after the 2014 WC Final lost. If he doesn't feel he is healthy and productive enough he won't play for the national team. I just hope he stays health and driven.
