  1. We will not be rid of Derphalter before the '26 WC, and we'll be lucky to be rid of him after that. MLS needs a pliant stooge at selection time so they can market how great their 'top ten' league is at the tournament. That's what this has always been about. Count on at least 10 MLS selections in the final WC roster.

  2. While watching the match, we looked out coached, during the last World Cup we got out coached, it seems like time and time again we are out coached when Berhalter is the man in charge. Everyone hypes his tactics, but seeing Columbia use a basic midfield press technique and us not be able to react and interact with any sort of intensity or intentionality was embarrassing. We have talent, but they are not being used in a structure or a system that highlights the players and constantly tried to sell us on a coach that is unimpressive as he tries to mimic Pep tactics without any of the preparation, coaching skill, and depth. USSF as an organization needs to look in the mirror and realize it isn’t the players alone, it is the entire form and structure of an organization that is nepotistic in the worst ways, and simply isn’t inspiring the fans or players to be anything other than a large third rate international side. We have to have some intensity, some passion, but also someone that actually understands personnel and matches tactics instead of playing along the statistical margins and minutiae that genuinely doesn’t get this nation to the best level possible. We bragged pregame about 11 top-5 league starters, and got outclassed by a scrappy and bold team.

  3. Unfortunately I think it is time to recognize the Greg is not the right coach. The wake up call was not Columbia, The wake up call was the squeaker against Jamaca's B team at home. Columbia is the your late for work because you missed the wake up call. I actually believed that Gregg could get the job done but the evidence is now too overwhelming. Sorry Gregg it is time to move on.

  4. Pochettino is available… AGAIN. Gregg Berhalter's annual salary is $1,641,398 in 2022 and Pochettino's annual salary at Chelsea was $1,813,234. You're telling me we STILL don't want Poche? My hands are up in the air in disgust.

  5. First time I ever watched you, and your point on his “smartest guy in the room vibe” is what turned me off to him right away. He has a certain unearned arrogance about him. Should have never been hired.

  6. After more thought I've come to the following conclusion: Gregg Berhalter is too inflexible of a coach. The US has a midfield that can play the way he wants to play. The US has a front line that can play the way he wants to play. The US does not have a back line or a goalkeeper who can play the way he wants to play. We don't have the center backs who are good with the ball at their feet and can absorb high pressure. Tim Ream could do that and he made the whole team better for a while when he came into the team and was playing well. But in this last game he was obviously rusty from not playing. More importantly, he's going to be an even worse defender than he is now by the time the world cup rolls around. Also, he will either be playing at a lower level or riding the bench. We should not be relying on him at the moment as he's likely not someone we can rely on at the world cup. Chris Richards is our best center back and he would be capable beside someone else who is a good ball-playing center back, but he's not good or confident enough at this point in time to be the primary guy. Antonee Robinson certainly has improved with the ball at his feet but it's not his strength. Scally may be better than any other outside back we have other than Dest at resisting pressure but he's not really good at it. Add to all this the fact that your goalkeeper is terrible with the ball at his feet and it's a folly to try to play the ball out of the back against good teams. We just can't do it at the moment. Berhalter should have learned this already. He should know we can't rely on Ream at the World Cup. He should know how bad Turner is with the ball at his feet. He has to stop trying to play against good teams as if we had a defense able to support our midfield and front line with the style of play they would otherwise be capable of playing. He's coaching as if he faces no job pressure and somehow the US will magically develop the necessary pieces in the next 2 years to make his tactics work. There probably can only be 1 or 2 weak links out of the 5 (gk and back line) to play this way against good teams, and at the moment we really only have one of the 5 that's really good enough (Dest – and he's prone to lapses of concentration). Relying on us being able to develop 2 or 3 more in the next two years is foolhardy.

  7. Is this the same guy who kept geo reyna out of the game because of some off the field drama. Get this guy out now, what a douche.

  8. The ignorance is insane. How can you say the US has a better talent pool than Colombia? If that were the case the minute Colombia started subbing out James and Luis Diaz the game should have slowed down to 1st gear and it been a more even game regardless of the score. But no the bench players who are thirsty to start smacked the US with 3 more goals. Let’s put aside the whole James and Luis Diaz argument. Jhon arias is south America’s best player as the defending copa libertadores winner. Daniel Munoz and Lerma start on a rebuilt crystal palace who were flying towards the end of the season. Richard rios is lighting up the Brazilian league. Sinisterra is an offensive nightmare who plays for Bournemouth. Jhon Lucumi one of the best cbs in serie a linked to the premier league. Jhon Duran a 20 year old goal hungry striker who plays Aston villa and is wanted by Chelsea. Yaser asprilla linked with Arsenal and Barcelona transfers by lighting up the championship in England. Miguel Borja is the current goal scorer for River plate. Juan Quintero is about 20 pounds overweight and he can still ping a pass wherever he likes and plays a huge role for racing in Argentina. And several who also could have been called up couldn’t make the list. All equally as good. If we could have a list of 35 players to bring we probably would have.

  9. First of all don't underestimate your opponent especially Colombia.

And this is always been my question why don't we hire a world-class coach from South America or from Europe 🤔

  10. Jake, to you point about how GGG talks about Luis Diaz @23:30 , I 100% agree. He speaks to USMNT fans as if all we have ever known is the MLS (which is true from his POV stint in Sweden notwithstanding)

  11. we arent top 8 in the world are you kidding me? this group of players is mediocre as is the coaching staff. the USA brain just doenst know football (soccer) like the latin americans or europeans. stfu and be humble. we suck. we arent top 20 right now.

  12. beating up on small central american nations and a mexico doesnt make us elite or good. we just fortunate that our opposition is terrible. put the USA in CONMEBOL and they're right there with Bolivia and Paraguay. we wouldnt even qualify for the WC if we were in CONMEBOL

  13. You guys should watch the Golazo Podcast with Conrad and Davies. They had Brian McBride who works for USSF on and asked him about hypothetical sacking of Berhalter. Mr. Landau, in that Podcast, McBride stated that they would not talk to another coach prospect as to not upset or anger Berhalter. Additionally, and what made me very upset, was that McBride admitted that they are extremely limited on who the USMNT can get as coach as the USSF does not have the financial capability to pay the coach BECAUSE the USSF agreed to pay the women's national team coach the same as the men's. What are your thoughts on this sir? I think you should make a video just on this topic alone. I suggest everyone that they see this interview, highly upsetting. https://youtu.be/yH-mrC3DJTQ?si=2tHjC05WyYiYabNE

  14. The problem is not the coach, but the Federation who brought him back even though he failed the first time.
Berhalter is simply not a capable manager.

  15. I think the federation thinks that it's too late to appoint a new coach for Copa America but i think that after that, they'll have to appoint someone else for the world cup

  16. It was a disaster of a game, the coach needs to go. There is no grit, fight or even readiness, it’s embarrassing how the men’s team gets out coached every game, outside of Concacaf. He is the coach for 5 years, and this is the product on the field, common

  17. Part of the problem in my opinion is that the fan base overrates a lot of our players. I mean player for player Columbia is better in almost every position and are a top team. This group has achieved about the same or less than previous generations of USMNT players.

I mean I can go down the list of overrated players:
-Turner is either 2nd or 3rd choice keeper at Forest
-Adams is on the treatment table more often than not
-Reyna couldn't get a game ahead of Morgan Gibbs-White at Forest
-Tim Ream isn't getting any younger although he's had an excellent career
    The list goes on.

  18. Copy and Paste…US is loaded with talent, but Berhalter has always found a way to F it up. He's ineffective and is always outcoached….Woefully unprepared. We are an international laughing stock.

  19. He’s the kind of coach you use for a team that gets to practice together all the time and they don’t have that luxury and won’t ever…so get with the times and find a coach who can squeeze everything out of the talent that comes together infrequently or take a totally different approach and do a Herbie like the Olympic Hockey team with a bunch of hungry no namers!

  20. Confused why you think the players are so good? Seems to me like the team is performing to the level that should be expected given the squad. US has only 2 players playing regularly for champions league level teams.

  21. Sorry but no, no, no.
US does not have a better team player by player. Luis Diaz, Daniel Munoz are better than Pulisic and Robinson any day of the week, Camilo Vargas is 10x better than Turner, both Lerma and Uribe are better than Cardoso.
I give you McKenney that's it. When you go to the bench the gap widens because The US doesn't have a bench.

  22. Bro top 8 😂😂😂😂? With Tim Howard!!!!

stop doing hard-core drugs and listen to me because I watch a lot of international football.

There is not one player on the US side that would start for Columbia or Uruguay not one Geo Reina started three games and walks in to this team every year. It’s pathetic.

Christian Pulisic goes missing in big matches for both Chelsea and Milan…

That being said. The worst problem is GGG. The tactics the Balls… walking naïve idot do you think that we can play with the ball when teams see how sloppy we are they’re happy to give us possession and pick us off all day

  23. I'd just really love to watch someone analyze the play of the guys on the field. These two things can both be true:
    1. This is the best team the US has ever fielded, by a wide margin.
    2. We're also not good enough to expect to beat world top 20 teams. Occasionally – sure!
It's so puzzling to me to watch so many people who expect to go from a bad team to to top-tier in 6 years. It's just unreasonable. We are still a baby program.

  24. Hi… I can feel your love for this amazing game of futbol… I love it too… In my opinion US team is not used to play to Comebol teams… and like Mexico, believe they are playing so much better than they actually does… I hope this is an awaking call and change the attitude…

  25. We should all watch how Atlético de Madrid’s coach Diego Simeone plays. We should be playing a 5-3-2 or a 5-2-3. The opponents are very strong at this level and we should be playing with more humility, patience, and with a more defense-first w/ counterstrike / build-up mindset.

  26. Maybe you over estimate the value of your parts. To think that the individual usmnt players are better or even close to the colombian players is delusional

  27. Greetings from Colombia, great analysis I do feel football is getting bigger and bigger in the US as years go by; I will say though, I do feel there was some lack of knowledge from USMNT regarding the history of a lot of the Colombian players playing; for instance, although James and Díaz are our best players, Quintero and Carrascal, who came on in the 2nd half, technically speaking are almost as good as James (some Colombians even argue Quintero is more technically gifted than James); So, contrary to the popular belief that they were just 'subs', they have prime quality even comparing them to other conmebol squads.

Cheers, from Colombia, I do like the USMNT better than Mexico though hehehehe

  28. You (USA) finally have good players, you only need a decent coach!
He Is not minimally harnessing the talent of their players.

Just hire an Argentinean coach as most of the Copa America teams, or an European Coach.

I love this Copa America format with all the teams from the continent. It is very good to play with Mexico and the USA and the rest of the best CONCACAF teams. I am in favor of CONMEBOL CONCACAF integration. If the Copa América becomes much more interesting with this integration, imagine if the Copa Libertadores were played including clubs from the USA and Mexico (The best clubs from Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, and the USA). With time it would be a great show to compete with the Champions League. You finally have good players, you only need a decent coach!

    Greetings from Buenos Aires
