He's too wooden imo, and so is Rice as good as he is. At times Martinelli and Saka are too one dimensional and run in straight lines. With these two behind how are we breaking teams down. This is a midfield balance issue. Arsenal need a box to box to help Rice and free Odegaard up more, or a better version of Jorginho. A deep lying DMF or a box to box. Rice isn't number 8. He runs with the ball as far as he can then passes sideways when he gets as far as he can go. I might be wrong but that's how I see this signing.
I like him a lot, with him we can put up 2 sets of midfielders, rice+jorgi+odg, onana+havertz+viera. Of course rice+onana+odg, but if we get him and Sesko, our set pieces will become stifling, a bunch of 6-6’3 folks with ben white secretively ungloving opponent keeper…
He’s such a Wenger player, I like that about him
