    KALVIN PHILLIPS | In his own words



    England midfielder Kalvin Phillips became the latest of our summer signs earlier this week, when he officially joined City from Leeds United.

    The 25-year-old midfielder put pen to paper on a six-year contract with the Premier League champions.

    Speaking in his first interview with mancity.com, Phillips revealed how the lure of playing for City – and learning from manager Pep Guardiola – had proved irresistible.

    “I had a dream that I wanted to play for one of the best teams in the world and one of the best managers as well,” Phillips revealed.

    “Pep’s teams are some of the best teams in the world and one of the man reasons I joined was to be coached by Pep.”

    To celebrate our newest arrival, we’ve compiled some of Phillips’ most striking observations as he looked forward to embarking his new career at City.

      He did everything he needed too for Leeds and he’s been rewarded for it. He could have jumped to the Prem when we were in the championship and ended up at a yo-yo team. Hope he does well

      To the Citizens supporter's we have a connection with your team going way back to the 1950s our greatest manger the legendary DON REVIE played for Man City in the 1950s he was in your 1956 FA cup 🏆 winning team & one of the player's who helped you win the cup he was a deep lying center forward your tactics where known at the time as the Revie plan he was an inovater of the deep lying centre forward as you know Bert Troutman played in the final with a Broken kneck . Now you have Kalvin and he will be a Gem he'll never give up as I keep saying on your platforms he has respect for you ladies and gentlemen the Supporter's the younger supporter's will love him he will always have time for you what ever age you are. Look after the lad he will look after you trust me. The Peacocks 🦚 supporter's love him to bits and you will too. Respect 👏 to the Citizens 🤍💛💙🇮🇨 .       As a blue since the early 90's those are words I never thought I would hear in my life time, i'm so immensely proud of what this club have achieved

      Heart broken to see him leave leeds. He's 1 in a million a really nice genuine guy and so humble. Look after him your lucky to have him. Wishing him all the very best at man City
