I see your points but Germany doesn't have a good striker either. Fülle is kinda lackluster and more like a holding 9. Okay there is Havertz but do you really need a striker? I mean Leverkusen often played without a 9, having Adli or Wirtz pushing towards the goal. In my opinion Netherlands can be a thread even without a true 9 (which they have in Weghorst).
I wouldn't bench Xavi. He can decide games by himself and they're playing at the Red Bull Arena (his home turf) against France.

The Dutchies had too many injuries and didn't play with first 11 a whole year and many players and positions changed. So maybe during Euro first 11 start but are coming back from injuries so not really match fit so a wounded lion. They might end in groupstage but if advance they might grow in the tournament.
Well, it's not just about the numbers. Look at the injuries. There has been no continuity in available players.

Hernan Crespo just won the asian champions league with Al Ain, the career of this guy as a manager is crazy good, his first managerial job was in Defensa y Justicia (he managed Enzo Fernandez and Lisandro Martinez) and in his first season with them he won the sudamericana which is like the europa league of south america, then he won the super cup against Palemeiras with Defensa y Justicia, then Sao Paulo snatched him and he won the brasileirao with them, right after winning brasileirao Al Ain went for him with their oil money, in his first season with them he won the emirates league and in his second season he just won the asian champions league with them
this guy is the real deal, I am talking Xabi Alonso levels of the real deal, he could easily go to a team like Milan or Valencia and make them fight for titles and even win them, Milan could win a new champions league with this guy
The problem with the Netherlands, including the Netherlands women, they have an average around a quarter-final exit. Argentina, which I predicted once the draw was finished, would knock them out in the last 8. Spain knocked out the Netherlands in the last 8 (women). 2012 Netherlands, with the golden generation, exited in the group with 0 points. That was crazy after reaching the finals in 2010. Underperformers. I'm not excited about them.

i still remember anything from euro 2008, especially the netherlands. hammering world champions 3-0, schooling world cup runners-up france 4-1, and went on to won 2-0 against romania with their reserves player, just only to be got schooled by hiddink's russia 1-3. van basten is too afraid to face hiddink's russia back then, netherlands counter-attacking football was just kept shut by hiddink and russia was so discipline, they make netherlands nervous and confused. fast forward ahead of euro 2024, netherlands is so stacked at the back, a lot of decent midfielders, and lack of good no.9. and if u think netherlands doesnt have a true dm, i think u are wrong. koopmeiners is a true 6 before gasperini deployed him to more advanced role, fdj can play there too, there is jerdy schouten, and wieffer who got left out by koeman. for stability i'll choose dumfries over frimpong, frimpong is too offensive-minded and vulnerable at defense. and my take koeman will do it right this time just like what he did before accepting barca job. my prediction the netherlands at least will get at qf stage. here is my line-up (3-4-1-2):
verbruggen; de ligt, van dijk, van de ven; dumfries, de jong, koopmeiners, maatsen; simons; depay, gakpo.
they better play reactively, pragmatic then trying to play attacking football, bcs the quality they possess at the back and their vulnerable defending.

Coming from a Dutch person you are spot on. The team on paper is so good, but it doesn't play like a team and I guess that could be caused by the fact that they have no identity (love that phrasing).
I also agree on your line-up and how we should be playing, only thing I'd switch up is Reijnders instead of Xavi Simons, since internationally he plays better and he is one of the few Dutch player that has a really good kick from out of the pitch, which we are also really lacking. Big fan of Donyell Malen so I'd keep switching him and Gakpo and see what fits best. My preference for Malen is, because he has speed and is actually able to pass a few defenders and finish succesfully afterwards.
A true good striker is what we are missing, I think Malen could be molded into that the best.
Dont read into nations league at all, unless its semi or final. Its the european micky mouse cup, no one cares for it.
As a Dutchman my line up would be a 4231 with one of the 2 dms being more like an 8 in attack, so in goal Verbruggen exiting goalie get him in goal, in defence from right to left: Dumfries, de ligt, van dijk, ake. Dumfries super consistent sorry Frimpong I love u but Dumfries is fantastic when he wears that shirt then u got de ligt and van dijk nothing to explain there next ake he kinda becomes a centerback in attack so Dumfries can push up next in dm u got schouten at pure 6 just let him dictate with the ez passes that’s what he is good in. Next in that 6/8 role Frenkie let him fully dictate the tempo he is out man in midfielder, at attacking midfield Reinders a MUST in our starting 11 second best midfielder we got. Should we run a 433 with a dm then schouten dm and Reinders and de jong as two 8’s. In attack it’s gonna shock u but FRIMPONG at right winger against Poland should it not work then Simons, both amazing players but Frimpong is great going forwards why not start him there. Simons in quals looked kinda mid ngl he wants his first goal to much wich could screw us over should he not get it. At left wing gakpo he is best there and I love him. As striker currently depay should Luuk de jong somehow get out of retirement and idk if it works like that but he makes the actual squad start him otherwise depay some experience in attack atleast.
