Better than koulibaly in the air
Kounde 63.5%
Koulibaly 54.8%
Jules Kounde will be a perfect addiction to Man city, good reader of the game
This is giving me big 3 at the back vibes Ake Laporte Kounde
What about a loan? Then we could have seen if he is good or not
Willing to take a chance on this guy, seems to be nothing but positive feedback from people who watched him. Lightning quick, aggressive, born winner. That shrink comment was interesting that's the mentality of a future leader right there. Might not fix everything straight away but could be awesome long term.
tbh I don't care at this point, I just want a cb who can paly alongside Laporte we can't go to a new season with Stones and Otamendi and Fernandinho as our rcb!
I think he’ll do well, Laporte as his wingman, Ferna in front of him I think he’ll grow, but is he what we need as a vinny replacement? Time will tell and he will need a lot of time to be that level imo
Great video again my petite little soliders, congratulations on the 10k much deserved, looking cute as always Jordan my delicate princess I’d let you back into my centre
It depends what type of passes he's playing. Anyone can play Gundogan and Nasri type passes and have 90 odd per cent accuracy, while getting the team NOWHERE. Some players (eg Fernandinho) are great in the air despite their height, this kid looks pretty good. Even Koulibaly would be a risk in the PL, and Kounde looks more versatile. I'd chance it.
Hell noooo😧😧😧😧We are bringing an overrated kid to the epl…😭What happened to the beasts we wanted like koulibaly and carlos😑…….I have a feeling our defense is still gonna be trash….
We need an experienced CB ,but we need a pacy CB to stop those deadly opposition counters
It's not so bad at all being in a situation where our fallback if Koulibaly deal fails we going for Kounde. By the way going by Gatusso comments yesterday he implied that Napoli have to sell KK this season to balance their books. So may be they will have to reconsider KK price tag as I don't see any club upping their offer
Jules Kounde Was Great In That Inter Game He is imo a better defender diego carlos and gimenez and i think in 2 years he will be a great cb but in today's market rumours are likely fake but if our man the legend fabrizio romano tweets "here we go"
If I’m being honest I’d rather go into next season with Tosin that this guy Tosin has a lot more experience and has bossed the championship a very intense league. I think today’s game is very important if Stones is starting If he bosses it there’s no need for a signing Cus I think signings have affected his confidence in 17/18 he was world class until his injury then Laporte came in and he lost it 18/19 regained it for a while 19/20 Guardiola didn’t start him. If John bosses it today I’d go into next season with Laporte stones Ake Garcia(if he stays) Tosin, Hardwood Bellis if it doesn’t work out January go all out for this guy or Koulibaly
Congrats on 10k lads!
Not sure about Kounde with Sevilla reportedly wanting €70mill for a player only just coming onto the scene
Jules Koundé is a fantastic talent. Fast, strong, good in the air and good on the ball. Had a phenomenal season for Sevilla last year and is only 21. He's excellent and a much better option than Koulibaly in my opinion.
Hes our guy the next Ramos 🙌
looks like jesus
Remember Sevilla played against Wolves and kept them in check he played great against the wolves strikers including Adama what else do we need? we lost to wolves and wolves couldn't even score against them
Des walker ex forest/Sheffield weds & England centre half was only 5 11.
It's a bargain imo, Madrid see him as the heir to Ramos' throne, enough for me
i watched the game vs inter, he didn't just mark Lukaku, he physically dominated him
I'm positive but I understand Lewis his frustrations. However, the main thing I hold on to is that there is no guarantee Koulibaly would be amazing either. Remember Sanchez to United? Koulibaly had a below average season, he's right footed but plays on the left for years, he's the rash, aggresive type of CB who needs a calm guy next to him, …. There are many worrying factors with Koulibaly too on top of his age obviously.
Koundé is statistically better in the air than Koulibaly,. He played against Dzeko, Lukaku, Godin, De Vrij and other tall players or good headers of a ball in EL. He's 21 but looks composed, sometimes a person is just naturally good at dealing with pressure and Stones never was. He's also fast, agile, a good passer and very young still (same age as Upamecano who was probably the best CB in Champions League knockouts, way better than Koulibaly did btw).
Finally, I disagree that we need someone to organize our defense and solve all the problems. I actually believe Laporte is that guy because he formed a beautiful partnership with Stones when he was good and we barely conceded anything. If we get someone who is just good, reliable, doesn't get injured and can win some headers, then we could have an amazing defense. Nice that they are both French as well, their communication should be better although I'd be surprised if KK doesn't speak French so probably not an advantage over him in that regard.
edit: since this Koundé rumour picked up, I've been hyped about him. I believe he's another Marquinhos. Someone who is very consistent, one of the best CB's in the world and turns up in big games. I think Marquinhos is very underrated personally and I kinda feel like Koundé could be the same player
U guyz @cityxtra let Messi slip from your hands😅😅😅😅😆😆😆
Trust Jules Kounde
Having seen Sevilla play a few times last season, I was really impressed with him. He oozes class, quality and was much more impressive than Diego Carlos. Every single time I saw him play I was like "This guy is the future, he's gonna become one of the greatest CB in the world". I was so happy reading we were being linked with him. Now for this season of course the type of players that would immediately settle our defense and give us a shot at the title would be an experienced CB who's a tank and who'd be our leader in the defense. The only problem is that I really only see Koulibaly as this type of CB. I don't know of any other player who'd be it and who's available on the market. Gimenez is not all that and is so injury prone. So if we really can't get KK, I think Koundé is the next best thing. He'd be a much more exciting signing for the future of the club and would make more sense financially as well given his age. He might also be so good that with him, Laporte, Aké and a top form Stones we could still win the league. The more I think about it, the more I'm sold on this alternative. Forget Koulibaly and the hassles of dealing with Napoli and the terribly deluded Di Laurentiis and get this guy who's gonna be one of the best CB in world football at the heart of our defense for the next 10+ years.
Lol what do you care, Ohio money is paying for it it’s like loose change for them.
He’s unbelievably fast and because City play a high line this is the sort of player we want.
For me i wanna see either koulibaly or gimenez. If we just buy another inexperienced CB, we should just play Adarabioyo. Hes got the experience of english football and he loves the club
The same were said about de bruyne but look at his bars now💪
Pep wanted Gimminez before Kounde but it looks like he will be too expensive!
I'm hoping and praying this deal doesn't go through. I would rather have Walker as a CB. He is too expensive, inexperienced, too short, not quick enough, not a proven leader or winner, he needs time to adjust to a higher level and a new league, he is 1 for the future…not what the team needs right now.
what about Skriniar??
It's so weird how I noticed him before Diago Carlos and wanted him for city even before his transfer was floating around.
Let’s say stones and Laporte get injured (I hope they never do). We have ake, kounde and Garcia as CB under 6ft. We can start them, we would get bullied
Who is Jules Kounde? He's someone who's joining the champions of Europe.
***Please don't be racist and or salty. just hold the banter, not like you haven't won pretty much everything in the last few years.
