  1. Honestly, let’s give him more of a chance. He’s looked alright in cameos. A Championship midfield of Him, Arblaster & Hamer doesn’t sound too bad 🤷⚔️

  2. He was good when he played, but we need to know his attitude going forward. Will he give 100% in the Championship, or will he be more like Vini and think he should be playing at a high level? 🤔 Will being in the Championship hurt his place in the Tunisia squad? If yes, then he will want to leave.

  3. He looks more solid than brilliant, but with more time here and in a lower division he might shine, but there's another issue. This guy who's looked comfortable in a World Cup squad playing at the very highest level, may well be struggling because of our old school approach to how to play football.

  4. I'd get rid of all the slackers, Souza, Larouochi, Slimane, Lowe, Mcburnie, they're not fit enough for the gruelling championship.

  5. I would love to see this player with other midfielders with the likes of arblaster, hammer, brooks, treore, and others in a 433 formation. See how the blades perform 😊 United should be looking at a left back Tolaji Bola, possible striker Joshua kayode. Midfielder Oliver Dyson. Goal keeper Viktor Johansson 😊 I’d love to be scout for Blades.

  6. Meh. There's some mitigating circumstances with injuries and being up against Hamer, but ultimately I'm looking at a player who hasn't been able to get time in an absolutely shocking side. I'm not against giving him a chance if the manager thinks he's shown promise in training, it's just that there's no way to get excited about him.

  7. He deserves a chance to get in shape and play some pre season games to see if he's got what it takes to play in the championship C'MON YOU BLADES 👏💪👏

  8. Not had a chance he’s an international, footballs a confidence game, it’s been drained out of him, just like McAtee.

  9. He is a big lad but comes across on the pitch as a bit of a light weight,he wont cope with the more robust challenges of the Championship, would be better off in France….sell him.

  10. I think it would be a mistake to let him go at this stage (unless the offer is a bit more than what we paid, when I think it ought to up to the coaching staff, but i wouldn't take any offer that wasnt AT LEAST the same as what we paid last summer, not "what we played minus one year of his contract")

Lad was brought in to play understudy to Berge and then we sold the player he was meant to learn from.

For me, we should keep him as hes currently one of only 2 midfielders we have who are above about 5'8 (and Souza is clearly a more saleable asset, whatever some fans reckon), and height and size can't be underestimated in the English game at the moment. Remember how much smaller we were than SO MANY prem sides not normally thought of as "a big bunch o' lads" this season? Championship is similar. We can't put out a team of short guys and expect big results.

He's a big lad, he's reportedly a technical player, and hes only 23, so really we ought to be looking at using him more in the champ next season.

From his appearances this season, I've seen a player who looks a decent prospect but hasn't really been given a chance. He looks energetic but a little bit headless chicken at times.

For me, I'd start Slimane next season ahead of Brooks. Personally I'd also switch the formation up too though. Refusing to change and mix things up is almost inevitable, given Wilder's inflexibility, but if we were to, I'd give Slimane a starting berth in one of the less out and out defensive midfield roles, certainly ahead of Brooks. Slimane and Hamer in front of Blaster, or Blaster+ another if we DO change the shape

  11. Was one of the stand out players in pre-season when we had the ball.
We will have the ball more in the championship and he could thrive.
I think if he’s happy and settled it would be pointless to get rid, we’d need a new player who may not fit in and that would come with fees (Ryan Leonard!)

You say that the midfield picks itself but without Slimane it looks very very thin.

  12. Not really sure if it would be the right decision to keep Slimane at the Lane – tricky one, this. He's not played a huge amount of football during the season. Will see what decision Chris makes. Thanks guys – another great post from you❤️👍

  13. My problem with Slimane's signing is we got him as backup to Hamer before even getting Hamer in. Then he has to try settle in a different country while potentially a little annoyed, then we show ourselves as a poor premier league team that he still isn't given much opportunity to play in. Would rather we try play Slimane and Hamer in the same team next year as he can play as a 10 or as a right winger which he did for Tunisia in the world cup.
