Highlights of Aspire Academy graduate and Qatar senior international Akram Afif.

The 19-year-old offensive player played a crucial part in Qatar’s win of the 2014 AFC U19 Championship in Myanmar and he also represented his country at the FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand in 2015. He was first called up to Qatar’s senior national team in September 2015 and also played for his country at the 2016 AFC U23 Championship, where his team managed to finish fourth.
On club level, the Al Sadd SC player spent the 2015-16 season successfully playing on loan for Aspire owned KAS Eupen in Belgium, that were promoted to Jupiler Pro League at the end of the season. In May 2016, Al Sadd SC announced, the club and the player have accepted the transfer offer made by Villarreal CF to acquire the player, which makes him the first Qatari player to transfer to Spain’s La Liga.
