David Raya made a huge error vs in the last Premier League match for Arsenal. Following his mistake vs Tottenham I ask the question is he good enough to be the number 1 goal keeper for Arsenal?

  1. I think he's more tfan good enough I wasn't convinced, nearly all keepers nowadays make rickets but he his handling and shot stopping are exceptional

  2. he is. Raya prevents too many things that other goalkeepers do not and the stats show it. What happens is that people prefer a goalkeeper who does not claim crosses, who does not prevent headers and who receives 10 shots on goal to make 5 spectacular saves than a goalkeeper who Avoid those situations, Ramsdale would have lost us that game because it is horrible at claiming crosses and for me Ramsdale would have made the same mistake as it did the entire previous season, ramsdale makes defenders nervous with raya that doesn't happen and That's why it prevents many things that at first glance don't look spectacular/flashi

  3. I do think Raya is good enough. As far as being undisputed my thoughts are nobody should be undisputed. We should always be looking to improve every position in our team. He is much better than Ramsdale inmo Ramsdale parrying the ball into dangerous areas when facing shots and there was plenty to of situations where he made a meal of saves that were straightforward. I don't want Ramsdale to leave and I do think there's still a future for him at our club. It's down to Ramsdale to prove he can cope with his position being challenged and prove to Arteta that he deserves to be in the starting line up.

  4. I loved Rambo but there’s no denying I feel much calmer with Raya is in goal. He doesn’t have the worldie saves at the consistency rambo did but he’s an upgrade in pretty much every other department . And the way he plays helps us prevent attacks. For how we play now as a team he is ideal

  5. I love this video! I was privately wondering the same question I also wondered if anybody else was thinking it. I personally decided that the jury is still out on him. his latest glaring errors against Spurs and in the Bayern game at home have me a bit troubled but we have a title to win. thanks for asking a very brave question and providing a plus and minus list that is outstanding

  6. Can't lie I thought Arteta had lost the plot dropping Ramsdale as he was the best keeper in the league for me last season. But wow. Raya on a loan with an option of 27ms? Masterstroke. Sign him up!!!

  7. I think the reason why there was so much conjecture, scrutiny and debate surrounding the Raya for Ramsdale switch is because both have different qualities that we want to see and even accommodating for their weaknesses, fuse the pair of them together and with the resulting clone we'd suddenly enter that conversation with Allison Becker and Edinson having quite a lot to say.

With that as my base line, for as much as I reckonise the progression Raya has lent to the team, I equally have an element of hope that Arteta's strive to create a winning team already has him with an eye on a keeper who not only meets that profile but commands his penalty area like a grave digger and would help form the foundation of a fortress defense with Saliba and Magalhaes.
