Do you know why every “next Messi” fails? It’s because there will never be another Messi. Martin Tyler who’s been commentating on football since Maradona’s days and has been watching football since Pele said Messi is the greatest he’s ever seen and I quote “he is so so so Special” Messi is the greatest player we’ll ever see and I’m not going into the GOAT debate (because there shouldn’t be one), Messi is all of the all time greats rolled into one he’s the closest thing to a perfect footballer there’s ever been and we should all be more appreciative of the fact we’ve been able to see this Genius play our beautiful game.

We’ve seen many players be called “the next Messi”, but this kid is different. Not that he’s more talented than the other compared to Messi, but his mentality is much better, and I think he actually wants it more than anyone else. Will he become as good as Messi? Maybe, probably not, but I’ve got a feeling he’s gonna become REALLY good.

Well being an Albiceleste fan, Thiago Almada is a great prospect for us but he definitely isn't the "Next Messi" he can't be, that's simply impossible. In Peter Drury's words, "He's the best there is, he's the best there ever has been and possibly the best there ever will be."
I wish this kid has an amazing career and goes on to win many titles for both club and country, but the tag of "Next Messi" is neither fair on him nor on La Pulga himself. Not to mention the immense pressure that tags brings along with it.
