  1. On form, it's obviously Palmer. The thing is, players like Sterling and Henderson have a wealth of experience. That's why both will probably go, unless he's gonna take all youngsters in place of them, which hardly any manager does.

  2. There is being a bit out of form. And there is getting into years not being at your best, while still being picked. Sterling, Maguire,Henderson etc.

Southgate is a joke for keeping on picking his friends.

  3. So basically a player who has never disappointed his country should keep playing till he actually does like the Maguire own goal right…… sounds more like dereliction of duty

  4. Not only is form subjective but it also means half the squad changed every international break, the team doesn't need that disruption before a tournament

  5. But Maguire can..Henderson can..Wat players do at club level are great then internationally are not as great..grealish gets in even though his form is poor..Gordon they said did well..but never took his defender once..can sterling not do dat..and sterling has proven himself on the international scene..

  6. based on form – Toney and Palmer. and Gordon and Bowen. Chilwell needs to regain top fitness, if not should not be in the squad.
Tomori should be in the squad – better than Maguire.

  7. As a United fan, Rashford and Maguire shouldn't be starters for England at all, Rashford could even lose his place in the squad alltogether if it's based on form, because England have a few options on the wing.

  8. It should be based on English players on a mixture of playing for top 4 clubs consistently along with form of players. Most of the England starting team should be starters for top 4 clubs in England. The Subs should include England players who are on form who can do some damage when coming on. The International team should not have players starting who have not represented their clubs at champions league level give or take.

  9. Based on form Sterling doesn't get selected and he would probably admit himself he is not currently playing at the standard to justify a place in the team. He's also lacking confidence. Lack of form and lack of confidence is toxic combination for a player. Plus hes 29 now and is at the age where pace players are normally passed their peak. But then you look at Harry Maguire and it he sort of makes a mockery out of that argument.

  10. When Raheem Sterling scored big goals at Euro 2020, the fans sang 'Sweet Caroline'…

When Harry Kane finally scored at Euro 2020, the fans sang Kane's name…

  11. Sterling has had a better season than rashford imo stats can lie, but players like Gordon should be going imo as a Newcastle fan, this is clearly my unbiased opinion

  12. Southgate will win England the euros 2024πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ€£πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†πŸ†

  13. The team looked better in the World Cup when Sterling was dropped, this has nothing to do with form, that said I always thought that Sterling would be great as a sub when players are tied and the game is stretched, from a standing start+ he is the quickest player there is, Southgate never used him in this role though.

  14. Since when has Southgate picked players on form? He has continued to pick Maguire and he isn't even in the first 11 at United. He only comes on when Utd need a goal and they start playing for free kicks and corners.

  15. Don't kid yourself Darren. If there's one thing that footballers don't lose as they get older, it's their football intelligence. Sterling's decision making is as poor now as it's always been.

  16. Shame he couldn't continue his form from the start of the season when he was left out of the squad imo unfortunately. If he couldn't get into the squad then when he was arguably the best attacker based on form I'll bet everything I have that he isn't going to be picked for the euros.
