Those pundits' comments explain why they never got close to Leao's and Pulisic's level. They chose pettiness over professionalism.
Now, rather than talk about how Leao created a goal out of nothing and Puli guaranteed in got in, they create controversy out and guarantee that's what we talk about on social media.
In football, people usually call it goal stealing, and while it might be annoying especially when the ball is 100% going to be a goal, the bigger picture is that it is still a goal for the team; except of course, you do a Choupo-Moting while trying to steal the goal.
Pulisic was making sure the possible deflection would be a tap-in. The defender was on the line, so there was no issue. How would Rafael "know" his shot would go in if his line of sight was obstructed by the defender on the line?
