What do you think of Disasiπ’
I wanted colwill to start but he is just coming back from injury. There was literally no other option.
Breaking through a well drilled low block is one of hardest things in football. This fan base should know it better than most from some of our backs to the wall performances in the CL.
Yes we were poor first half, but City and other top teams have struggled vs the likes of Brentford, Wolves and Palace is similar circumstances.
Coming back against such a side in tough circumstances and finishing big chances well shows progress.
There is something seriously wrong when a win feels like a relief against a mid tier club.
I'm trying to learn why you attacking Silva. First half last night was tacticaly awful. You can find photos of Silva with the ball on center, first mid player is Moi who is 20m far away on the other side, verticaly on the field next line is at 25-30m from box. At start of second half Poch moved Enzo to play in pivot with Moi and everything settle immediately. Hate on one player can't be reason to not to see general picture
Badi injured, Colwill late fitness check a night before the game and came out with a knock after the game. Play Chalobah who we havent seen since pre-season? What is Poch meant to do with that? So obviously Silva was the only choice. People wanted the same team that played against Villa minus Silva. The reason wasn't Pochettino that we was slow with our passes, it was back to passing backwards and sideways, Caicedo being left alone in that mid becasue players ware t dropping to midfield to receive the like we was doing at Villa. How is Pochettino fault that we was slow and didn't even have a shot on target until the last min of the first half. I find it hard to believe that Poch told those players play like that, like in what world a manager tell players to play like that. Madueke is shxt, people keep talking about how he dribbles past players but then what after that? He dribbled past one player last night and a Villa he went past a player 2 times, so what exactly is warranting him that people keep wanting him to play but ridicule a player like Gallagher? Me as fan i would rather talk about what made us slow in the first half (which wasn't Pochettinos fault) and how we turned it around the second half instead of try a find every little thing to blame Poch. Everybody got their wish, his gone by the end of the season. But to come out every week and blame Poch for this players inconsistency on the pitch is getting pathetic. This players need to take accountability. You can't have playeds have one good game one day then the next he plays like a league 1 player…
I don't wish to be unkind, but listening to this "analysis" was almost as painful as watching that first half performance. Where to start – Silva was obviously in the line up because Pochettino was dreading bringing Colwill back too quickly. How on earth you can go on and on about that decision, when a 5 year old could grasp the logic, goodness knows. The first half display was down to the players. Poch got them in at half-time, made tactical adjustments and left them in no doubt that they needed to speed up their play (Gallagher, post match interview). Where was the analysis of two diabolical displays in that first 45 mins from Madueke and Enzo. Both had been brilliant against Villa, but were deplorable here. Madueke looked as if he had never seen a football before and Enzo horribly misplaced more passes in one half than Fabregas did in his whole career. That is what Poch is dealing with – young and inconsistent players. Finally, another needless pop at Sterling. Apparently, you didn't spot his brilliant contribution – first touch, shrugging off a defender, seeing and executing a pass to put Palmer clean through for the decisive goal. Perhaps, you shouldn't rush out your podcast – being first doesn't make it the best!
Iβm one of his biggest critics but Sterling literally creates that first goal with a nice piece of driving play. Felt forced having a go at him today. Also pretty clear that Silva was the only option with Chalobah & Colwill just coming back from injury weβd be complaining if they got hurt because he started them thought that was pretty obvious so Iβm not sure why youβre giving Poch stick for that after heβs been burned by injuries so much this season. Gallagher also mentioned in the post match that it was Pochβs tactical changes at half that changed things so he deserves credit there just as much as he deserves credit for how flat they came out to start the game. Ngl this is one of you least rational takes on a game Iβve seen Dan.
There's a phrase: 'Measure twice, cut once." WHich poach? He's a 'measure what? and let's change it for the 2nd half' – it all smacks of amateur management. Best team at the start and change it if it needs changing
to be fair, sterling played a huge role in the winning goal. i honestly like him as a sub, he seems to at least give more effort when he knows heβs only out there for a half an hour lol
Y'all hate Conor so much for no reason and he's like the most inform player at Chelsea. He's going to be a future star trust me. You are the only person that give Conor his credit
So happy with the result. Don't care about anything else. We're making progress.
Gusto was the best player on the pitch imo.. Nkunkuβs presence alone causes problems for oppositions. His movement and intelligence are superb. Poch is on thin ice and he needs to be bolder and be fair on Sterling. He was crucial for the 2nd goal. A lot of people havenβt mentioned that
Gallagher and Palmer need to book their seats on that England plane to Germany later this year. They deserve it.
Again, the huge gap between Caicedo and Enzo ffs. Why? It doesnt work unless they are close together. We all know it. We all see it. Against Villa he played them beside each other. I wonder was he a bit arrogant here going back to it thinking they couldnt hurt us. Crap setup managment either way.
If Gallagher continues to find himself in the box, players like Enzo, Gusto, Palmer and Jackson will start trusting him more by creating him chances to score.
Just Give Conor the 150 he wants, He Deserves It
Chelsea has held on to Thiago Silva a year too long. He slows down our play in possession is regularly targeted by opposition forwards. Sterling is so forgettable and frustrating. I wouldn't mind seeing him being moved on next summer. MOTM was Conor Gallagher.
Poch's fault when we lose, poch's faukt when we have a bad half, players repsponsible for the good things? Auch a chelsea fan take. What about how much more energetic we seemed late in the game than palace? Couldnt have to do with the COACHES concentration on fitness this season? Poch is doing fine and these young players need to continue to improve individually and as a team, and no coach can make that happen overnight
