Hello everyone and welcome back to Inside Arsenal.

In today’s show I focus on Saturday’s game against Brentford and discuss what changes, if any, Mikel Arteta should make. I discuss why I think Leandro Trossard should potentially come into the starting XI and look at what Arteta has had to say about Kai Havertz’s excellent recent form. I also respond to some of your questions on several topics, including one on a possible return for Wojciech Szczesny.

  1. I am frankly worried that we won't see Martinelli for the rest of the season or at least not until the final month. I haven't seen him in any of the training footage or photos released this week, and I have never seen a player react to a 'cut' as if their foot was broken… I don't blame Mikel for trying subterfuge but to me all signs point to Martinelli sidelined for 6-8 weeks with a broken foot.

  2. 12:33 "I think we're all guilty of it" not me mate. Yes it was certainly far too early. Social media and quick feedback loops have sapped our patience for sure. Give players time

  3. Hi Charles, thoughts on this being potentially Ramsdales last game for us ?
    Ramsdale
    White Saliba Magalhães Kiwior
    Rice
    Saka Odegaard dat-Kai Trossard
    Nketiah
with SmithRowe, Nelson, Jesus , Partey & Cedric coming on in the 2nd half. Reason behind Eddie starting is down to the fact that Brentford have 3 incredibly slow centre backs & I wouldn't want to risk Martinelli starting incase he isn't at full pelt for Porto. Ideally SmithRowe gets 30+minutes. Jesus is still not ready to start games just yet & I rather keep Jorgi fully fit for Porto too.
    Fulltime 3-0 to The Arsenal

  4. I agree on the goalkeeper backup, Szczesny or even Fabianski would be ideal if they would accept the prolonged seat on the bench at this stage of their careers. We must beat the Bees and I would go with the same 11 if all are 100% fit. Just like you say, we have plenty decent options up front all desperate for a chance to get in on our positive run. Might prefer a City win on Sunday, just because they don’t often drop points but they are going to after the international break!

  5. You are grossly wrong about Arsenal can do with a draw at Etihad, because it is not about points anymore with City. Pool or Arsenal need to break the BELIEF that City have and that can only happen when they suffer a LOSS to either teams.

Belief will kick in for City in subsequent games in April and May when they wobble in a game by going 1-0 down or 0-0 at 80’ thats when the belief lost will play a role.

  6. We had reason to doubt Havertz, and we can still have ou doubts with him being an eight. Seems like the injury to Jesus has placed him in a position where he functions best. Let's hope he continues to make progress.

  7. Hi Charles 👋, I hope all is good 👋 👍 😊 😀 ☺️ 🙏. I would definitely start my strongest team against Brentford because there is no room to slip up now and Arsenal must get a win on the weekend. COYG to thrash Brentford God willing 🙏. Have a great day Charles 😂. Arsenal rocks 🏆 🙏 🤲 🪨 🎸 😎.

  8. My point of view is pretty sure. Trossards chances of a start are answered by the question " how fast is their defender on the right hand side". If he is fast ,play Nelson or Jesus there. The difficult thing is that we need to make our subs early to keep key players fresh for tuesday.

  9. A draw is the best outcome followed by a City win. A draw will put less pressure on us when we go to Etihad (we’d be a point ahead vs a point behind). Depending on Liverpool’s other games, we could afford to draw at the Etihad. Bottom line: Any result but a Liverpool win puts the title in our hands.

  10. I'm Polish, and I'd love to see Szczęsny back at Arsenal but he's still no1 for Poland altought he might retire from national football after Euro. He's arsenal through and through he might like that idea too. I'll ask him😊

  12. Hi Charles, I agree draw for city would be good. But I believe we must beat city. Would like to see ESR have some start. I am worried that he might not play for Arsenal again. Yes Kia lately been playing good, but the for half of the season he was been carried. He deserved the question on him. Would other players given the amount of minutes that Kai would they be playing good too.

  13. We seem to be too optimistic, a win at the Etihad will be a very big ask. I think our biggest result there will be a draw. Let's not forget that we squeezed a narrow 1 nil at the Emirates.
