Southgate will be the biggest disappointment of the tournament.
Best record against bad and average teams. Think about the teams that the golden generation played against. Why do we act like what he did means anything. We won nothing!

A losing culture
Another example of armchair 'experts' losing to Southgate today – imagine all of the chaos the Toney ruling would have caused for the squad if he had picked him.
Really about to waste a World Cup with him in charge
people don't respect him enough, we missed out on the Euros on a penalty shootout, that's just hard luck. The boys are hungry, I think we should get behind them.
Even if you don't respect the man, at least respect the job he has done. Taking us from out of the group at WC2014 and losing to Iceland at Euro 2016 to a World Cup semi-final and a Euro Final, Gareth Southgate has done magnificently. Hope he sticks around for at least one more crack at the Euros.

What makes Southgate so good in this role is that he gets the environment this generation of players need from our national side. They honestly all look like they enjoy being together on England duty, a total pivot from the WAG-strewn, kliqs in the dressing room Golden Generation.
