Steven Berghuis (Dutch. Steven Berghuis; December 19, 1991, Apeldoorn, The Netherlands) is a Dutch footballer, midfielder of the Feyenoord club and the Netherlands national team.

Watford
On July 27, 2015, the midfielder signed with Watford: the deal was worth about 4.6 million pounds, and Steven received number 7. Having missed the start of the season due to injury, Berguis made his debut only on 15 August 2015 against West Bromwich Albion, coming on as a substitute at the end of the match in a goalless draw. However, the midfielder could not stand the competition and did not fit into the 4-2-3-1 formation that Quique Sanchez Flores used. The coach said that he was disappointed with the player’s performance and had high hopes for him.

After a two-month absence from the squad, Berguis entered the field for the first time in the third round of the FA Cup, beating Newcastle United 1-0. , in which Steven scored a goal, but his team lost – 1: 3. It was followed by a duel with Aston Villa. In this meeting, a victory was won with a score of 3: 2. After the midfielder returned to the squad, the head coach praised him for his hard work and perseverance.

Before the start of the 2016/17 season, the club changed its coach: Walter Mazzarri took the place of Sanchez Flores. It was more and more difficult for the player to get into the squad, which is why he had to change the team.

Rent in “Feyenoord”
On August 1, 2016, Steven signed with Feyenoord, moving to the club on loan until the end of the season. The player made his debut in the opening match of the season against Groningen, where he appeared on the field in the second half, and his team won with a score of 5: 0. On August 27, 2016 he scored the first goal for the club, in a meeting against Excelsior. The game ended in victory – 4: 1. At the end of 2016, he scored a goal against Ossa, AZ and Vitesa. After Steven’s successful performances, rumors began to circulate that he would return to Watford before the end of his lease. These rumors were denied by the head coach of the team, saying that the player is not currently included in his plans. On January 29, 2017, the midfielder scored his fifth goal in the championship – this time against NEK. On April 5, 2017, he scored three goals for the Go Ahead Eagles, and four days later hit Zwolle twice. Steven’s immense contribution to Feyenoord’s play helped them become Dutch champions for the first time since 1999. At the end of the 2016-17 season, Berguis said he would like to stay at Feyenoord for at least one more season instead of returning to Watford.

Feyenoord
On July 31, 2017, he announced the conclusion of a full-fledged contract with the player for a period of four years.
