If you go to this game, prepare to wait in traffic for at least 4 hrs going to and going home. The highway infrastructure for the stadium is so bad and that highway is always filled w traffic regardless anyway.

Plus there is one of the world biggest malls that takes the same exit so I seriously think it’s gonna be one of the worst traffic shitshows in north jersey history

  2. Listen, people will hate it. But as fellow person that lives in south Jersey, I’m happy.

One negative thing is traffic is gonna ruin this whole experience…… I might as well order a Jet and parachute into the stadium

  3. The only reason seems to be because of the “New York” branding sneakily attached to it. Pretty surprised the final isn’t in LA, Dallas, or Atl

  4. Will the lottery for tickets be given preference to those who live in NJ? I only live 20 minutes away from the stadium so I’d hate losing out on the opportunity to go see the final…

Has it been confirmed how ticket sales will work? I know WC tickets are usually a lottery system, but stadiums in the US all have contracts with TicketMaster, that state that tickets for events held there can only be purchased through them.

Dallas might have the better stadium but it makes way more sense for it to be in New York/New Jersey

NY, NJ, semantics. Plenty of public transportation options from Manhattan, most of them under an hour.

  8. From a Texas perspective I’m actually happy about this. Getting more matches total works better for regular people like myself being able to attend something.

Miami gets to host 7 games. No complaints here. I am pleasantly surprised that Hard Rock Stadium will also host the 3rd place game.
No one here in South Florida was expecting the World Cup Final to be in Miami.
All in all, Miami did much better than expected.
The expectations were very low, but they turned out better than expected.

  10. What’s the word on the turf situation?

Replacing the synthetic with natural? Leaving synthetic? Going to a hybrid turf?

  11. As a neutral non American fan, this was the best option and I’m so glad they chose NY/NJ. Explaining why:

    1. Best time zone for north, south american + european african fans.

    2. Biggest sporting event on our planet in the most iconic city, the experience itself will be divine

    3. Easy way to get to the stadium from Manhattan, Airport close by and developed architecture around it.

    4. If any of you have been to events like this you would know that a good majority of people coming from far away go to the venue area in advance to make sure they arent late and have time to kill. Most stadiums in the middle of nowhere have nothing to offer to accommodate that many people. American Dream is just around the corner of MetLife which in terms of convenience for fans will be huge.

    5. Yes it’s an outdoor stadium but that is a dumb take, what is the issue here, we arent talking about consistently being rained on while getting to work, it’s a World Cup FINAL. If there is rain or even a storm this will only make the moment even more memorable and epic, don’t be a little bitch about it.

  12. Everyone is forgetting the key thing and it’s mass transit to and from the meadowlands you can have lunch in NYC and be at stadium in time for the game

  13. Attending a game in the world cup has been always on my bucket list. I live in NJ and I’m so pomp up to bring my family to a game. I don’t really care which game, i hope USA or Colombia(if they qualify) game 😀, but I want to be in a world cup game. I hope i can get tickets through FIFA.

  14. I was hoping it to be in LA or Dallas, now it’s in the other side of the country, might as well be in London from where I’m standing
