      Ben Davies gets a fair amount of shade thrown his way sometimes but I've always liked him as a player. He's a very decent, Premier League footballer. When we see team improvement I feel like fans get a little too comfortable with that success and they kind of forget what got us there. It's very easy to look at "better" players in certain positions but football is a team game and Ben has been a huge part of our growth. Just think back to those pre-Poch days, our even pre-Redknapp, and we had some real dross in Ben's position. Some of those players wouldn't be fit to lace Ben's boots to be honest but what happens with forgettable dross? We forget about them! It frustrated me a little when I heard some fans talk about Ben as if he's no good, but I must admit that I did wonder whether he was still capable of being an integral part of a successful Spurs squad. However, he has come back so well under Conte and I am really pleased to see him sign a new deal. He knows this League, he knows this club and he is performing well with this manager. Its all well and good wishing him gone and be replaced by some left-sided superstar defender, but we need someone who can fit into our team, into our squad, and there is no guarantee anyone coming in would necessarily do a better job. I remember when the fanbase all got on Trippier's back because people would blame him for this, say he is not good enough and blah, blah, blah. He went to Atletico and I guess he was good enough for them, right? In fact he did great there and I feel we haven't really replaced him in RB. Ben gives us a solid grounding in a defensive position, he can fill a couple different roles in the defence and down the left, he can start matches, come on as a sub or he will play in rotation and having players you can rely on like that is truly vital. I'm proper chuffed that Ben has signed!

      Apparently Daniel Levy reads everything… Daniel read this.. A contract extension isn't showing ambition, we need a world class player not Ben Davies. The stadium has been built. No more excuses, sign world class players.

      Has really raised his game and deserves it. Very decent bloke whenever I see him on videos and committed to the Club. Hope his recent knock is not too serious.

      Last season was a very good season for you Ben,made some fantastic tackles, scored too, which was great to see.
      Loyalty, something he has in droves.

      I see all the comments about how much of a great player he has become.. In fairness he was a great player under Poch.. nothing has changed, other than being picked

      Well deserved. Reliable player, always gives his all. I think he instantly became a better player when Conte arrived and showed he trusted him. Hope he continues to improve and gets lots of playing time. Nice person as well
