  1. As a City fan it came as a shock when he was sent on loan but i understood Pep's decision, like you said what makes Pep a great manager is that everyone can be replaced no one is to be given special treatment, City's new foundation as a club that Pep started is built on extremely hardwork and no favourtism meaning everyone has to work hard to get a spot in the starting team and that pushes everyone to work harder.

Another reason why i don't think CR7 would have done well at City because he would be treated just like everyone else, he would get not special privalleges unlike Untied who ended up doing what ever he said for awhile and it got bad.

Cancelo was not happy on the bench as in Peps eyes he dipped in form, he could not play the way Pep wanted and instead of working harder and training hard and learning he demanded gametime and was shipped out for it because no player wins over Pep.

He should have learned from people like Ake, Dias and even Walker in the same year, all the players had tough times with Pep and being on the bench for a bit but they worked hard and trained hard and it payed off.

Ake has established himself as a main stay, Dias is the vocal point in the City defence and now Walker is a captain and starting games again

Now i actually prefer Gvardiol for what you said about Cancelo, Cancelo is a great attacking full-back no doubt but Gvardiol is great in build-up, can break through a press, very strong yet good pace and he defends a lot better than Cancelo in 1on1s and even 1on2s. Gvardiol has gone on to make the left back spot his own and City have never looked back.

I hope Cancelo has a great career and even wins the CL with Barcelona but his case at City was simply not wanting to learn, by his time and try his hardest to earn back that spot.
