South Korea head coach Paulo Bento warned Brazil that his team will fight “to the utmost of our efforts” on Sunday, as he looked ahead to Monday’s clash with the 5-time champions Brazil in the last 16 at Qatar 2022.

“We don’t give up. We compete,” Bento said. “And that’s what we will do tomorrow.”

The two sides have never played each other in a competitive match, but did meet in a friendly international in Seoul back in June.

Neymar scored twice in a comprehensive 5-1 victory for Brazil, but Bento stressed the upcoming match will be toally different.

He also acknowledged that he would prefer to see Neymar, who has missed Brazil’s last two matches with injury, on the sidelines rather than on the pitch.

“We would be hypocrites if we said that we would prefer playing with Neymar,’ Bento said. “That would be a lie. We would prefer he would not be on the field of play.”
