Gio Reyna has signed for Nottingham Forest for Dortmund on a loan deal with an option to buy in this January’s transfer window. He is currently on his way to Nottingham to complete his medical and has an option to buy of 15-20 million Euros.
This is a much needed boost and bolster to Nottingham Forest’s attacking line up and the young talented American should be avaialbe for Nottingham Forest’s match this weekend against Bournemouth
Nottingham Forest will also sign a new goalkeeper in the next 24 hours and Turner proved yesterday against Arsenal that he is not up to the required standard, but who this goalkeeper will be…. we will have to wait and see!
Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal with Lyon over the transfer of Orel Mangala for a fee of 27 million euros with 3 million in add ons, it is believed that Mangala will sign a contract with the French club until 2027

Option to buy was taken out in negotiations. Dortmund were adamant on not having one as he’s just signed a 1 year extension with them keeping him till 2026
I think Johnstone is a good keeper but I still don’t think he will be the final solution for the long run

Why is Reyna a huge player? He has barely played a minutte for Dortmund this season. Why are we looking for Dortmund B-team players?
Just looked at the goals from last night, and it looked even worse than live at the CG 🤦♂️ I’m not making excuses but Williams was sandwiched, however when the ref gave the throw-in Arsenal got on with it whilst Forest went to sleep. The less said about the nutmeg the better. The second goal left me speechless, I’d said at half time what a great half Montiel had. Going back to the Williams sandwich, Arsenal would’ve got the free kick without a doubt. When Montiel took a knock to the head and went down Arsenal had the ball and the ref played on until they got another corner, only then did he allow Montiel to get treatment, then in the second half when an Arsenal player went down after a challenge and Forest in possession, the ref halted the game. He didn’t even need treatment, but of course the ball was brought back and Arsenal regrouped. It stinks.
Reyna is not a winger. He is a central player.

Reyna is primarily a midfielder. He can play any role in the midfield though the 10 is where he really shines.
He is not a winger by trade but the USMNT and Dorund play him there so he's serviceable.
He's best with the ball at his feet. He's silky smooth.
I don't know what happened to Turner his confidence is absolutely shot. He's giving up goals you don't ever expect him to. Hopefully his performances don't bias your view to him. I don't know what it is but you haven't seen the best of him and I don't know why. Maybe his confidence is low maybe he's just not ready for the Prem yet but whatever it is he's not performing right now.
As a USMNT fan I'm panicking because we found out we don't have a goalkeeper right now and Slonina is a long way away from being ready to take over

For Forest this is massive. It is a complete win win. Reyna’s father was a world class player and mother as well. It’s in his blood. His best position is a 10 and I would love to see Gibbs moved out wide.
100% over the moon with Reyna. Listen we can all moan at MT but the fact of the matter is Montiel was caught napping for the first goal and Montiel was at fault for the 2nd 💯 so yeah call MT all ya want totally agree he should go as he has cost us atleast 8 points this season. I've also heard Sam Johnstone is on our radar quality player tbh and DISTRIBUTION is 💯 better aswell. Ribeiro looks a good lad aswell the next Ronaldo only 18 and fast as fcuk

Reyna is an excellent player…he is a bit injury prone so I hope his body can handle the physicality of the Premier League
From USMNT fan, I don't know how much this means to you, but you got the most talented American. When he plays for USA, he's been outshining Pulisic. He is easily the most talented American attacking player I've seen. The more talented our players have been the worse the injuries. I'm hoping this move lights a fire underneath him and teaches him the tactical awareness he needs to grow into a world class attacking midfielder
I hear ya Wolfie and agree on the cons, but consider this re Reyna also:
– atm we can't even negotiate well and everyone knows the Jan Sale (eh hm i mean window) is not as strong as summer, due to congestion of matches/work flow etc…
– We actually have zero idea what we're getting just yet until he touches the pitch, so it won't be great to have a big wage bill if he doesn't perform.
– It's better for him to be on fire (if he is) until May, then 'WHEN' we stay up, hopefully we can use the summer to properly learn how to recruit and re-calibrate.
The Jan window always feels too rushed. Long term I get it isn't ideal, but since the charges, we need to just perform like magic for the immediate 5 months….and then breathe…with hopefully the books in order.
