Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana has reported for international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) but will not play in their opening game against Guinea. Onana played a full 90 minutes for his club, Tottenham Hotspur, in the Premier League before flying to the Ivory Coast. Weather conditions forced him to change travel plans, causing a delay in his arrival. Onana had previously retired from international duty following a disagreement with Samuel Eto’o, the president of the Cameroon Football Federation, but was called up for the AFCON in December. If Cameroon do not qualify from their group, Onana will not miss any domestic fixtures. However, if they do advance, he may miss some Premier League games with his club, Manchester United. Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton are potential replacements for Onana in the Cameroon team.
