The return of Lisandro Martinez to Manchester United after recovering from injury is absolutely crucial. Martinez’s absence had left a void in the back four, impacting the team’s overall stability and performance. United have missed his defensive prowess, intelligent positioning, and ball-playing abilities, and a valuable skill set that we lack in the rest of the squad. His return not only strengthens us defensively but also adds a sense of composure and leadership to the backline. We can surely hope to see an improved defensive resilience and a more balanced team with Martinez back in action…

  1. I have to disagree that top 4 is a "must", because I've never known a manager at our club have to deal with these circumstances and I think for where the quality of this squad is, perhaps a season out of Europe wouldn't be the end of the world short term while Ineos lay the ground work for long term success. As for Martinez, he's one of a very very small handful of players who I would say are "United" players. It's hard to write down those qualities but it's a combination of skill, aura, attitude and respect. I can't wait for him to get back to full match fitness.

  2. He was excellent last season. If he can return to that form it would be a massive step up for us. Breaks in the wrong area of the foot can take a long time to heal, but they do heal, so let’s hope it’s business as usual. He’s also got the motivation of proving everyone wrong again.

  3. If he plays like he played since the WC, I'd take Evans. Ever since that and the league cup win, he is looking satisfied. I would love to get the Martinez back from where he first started playing for us.

  4. If mainoo was fit at the start of the season do u guys think it would’ve been mount Bruno and Casemiro or mainoo Casemiro with mount and bruno at RW

  5. It used to be the norm. What you are describing. A defender instantly putting the ball up to the front of midfield. Or straight to a forward. The only time you played the pit a pat pass, back or sideways. Was under pressure. If you had time ball went up forward. Yet the players today don't do that. As you are always talking about. Even in this video. Playing out from the back. Half an hour later you may make the front. Or have lost it on the way up. Playing the ball directly up. Was effective. Still is effective. Should be used more. But is another fault of modern football. The same as defenders not being allowed to tackle. All line dancing with their hands behind their backs. The ridiculous offside rules. Including the don't show the flag until the player interferes with the play. Or whatever the crap ruling is. Bloody mad. Fullbacks that spend more time up the front. The pantomime acts, if touched. The set goal displays. Like strutting Peacocks. The original guys out of the mills and pits, would laugh their socks off. It has become a high money showbiz act. Performers, made up for the lights. How to play the original game, long forgotten. Highlighted occasionally when a performer with a bit of extra talent. Thinks about the performance. And goes off script. Modern football in a nut shell. Unfortunately.

  6. Martinez plays like he still remembers people saying he's not got the height or not got pace etc. He's out to prove ever MF'in doubter wrong 🔪🥩🟥😈

  7. How about a discussion of United without Onana?
Presumably we will now see his 12 million pound Turkish backup in goal.
Onana has been poor, he has conceded a lot of goals, De Gea was much better.
We shall see at Wolves whether yet another of the Ten Haag signings is a disappointment.
Hopefully Ten Haag made a good purchase but his track record is awful with more than 340 million under performing at this time

  8. Doesnt have pace, strength and physical ability to be a complete defender. Have to compensate this with intelligence, tenacity and aggression. Not ideal but it is what we have. Would rather have someone like konate

  9. I can't believe no one has mentioned the nutmeg on the sideline in our half. Can't remember who he did it to but it was mint. Made my nipples hard!

  10. As a former defender, this guy is absolutely my hero. Great vision, excellent passing like you noted and really good leadership. Not to mention he’s an absolute fucking monster, and defends his teammates very well when the pushing starts
