🔥 West Ham Transfer Buzz: Steven Bergwijn on the Radar! ⚒️🔄

In the latest transfer scoop, West Ham United is reportedly eyeing a move for former Tottenham Hotspur winger Steven Bergwijn, as revealed by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano. The Italian journalist shared, “I understand Steven Bergwijn is one of the top targets for West Ham in the January transfer window in case they will be able to find budget after outgoings.”

🤔 Moyes Prefers Versatile Winger:
Manager David Moyes is said to be leaning towards adding a versatile winger rather than a striker to the squad this January. Bergwijn, having previously played for Tottenham, offers a skillfull and flexible option that aligns with Moyes’ vision for the team.

Bergwijn’s Impressive Stint with Ajax:
After a mixed spell at Tottenham, Bergwijn returned to the Netherlands with Ajax in 2022. His time in Amsterdam has proven fruitful, boasting impressive statistics of 12 goals and five assists in 32 league appearances last season. This season, despite Ajax’s current standings, Bergwijn continues to shine with seven goals and two assists. Romano adds, “More Premier League and Saudi clubs are also keen on Bergwijn as he could leave Ajax in case of a good offer.”

Bergwijn would join former Ajax stars Edson Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus who have already made the switch to The London Stadium.

🔄 Outgoings at West Ham: Benrahma, Cornet, and Urgent Reinforcements:
West Ham is actively seeking to offload Said Benrahma and Maxwel Cornet, although no permanent transfer offers have been received for either player. With Mohammed Kudus at the African Cup of Nations and Michail Antonio sidelined due to injury, reinforcements are urgently needed for The Hammers.

📆 Transfer Window Deadline Approaching:
West Ham has a couple of weeks before their clash against Sheffield United on January 21st. Fans hope that any necessary transfer activity, including potential additions like Bergwijn, will be completed by then. Stay tuned for more updates as the January transfer window unfolds! ⏳⚽ #WestHam #TransferRumors #StevenBergwijn #COYI

  1. If Tim keeps going back to 1 or 2 teams for players what exactly is he doing for the other 364 days? Dr Who conferences? Also, he could go to Ajax on Eurostar – the plane thing is narcissistic.

  2. Is Bergwijn an upgrade on Cornet? We will never know as Cornet hasn't had a chance has he? Bergwijn flopped at Spurs. Maybe he his just not suited to the PL. I guess we will have to trust Tim Steitden on this one. Timo Werner – 2 goals all season. I think we dodged a bullet there to be honest

  3. If old Burger Wine didn’t do it under the negative Conte what makes you think he will do it under our negative cont? 🤣
I suppose his stats look slightly better than Benny’s but A that’s not a high bar, B he’s playing in a vastly weaker league and C he’s playing in a team that actually attacks. We would be basically selling Benny to by Benny by the looks of things? Doesn’t seem a TS type target from the outside.

  4. My real fear this window is that history repeats itself from a couple of years ago, where we are in a good place to kick on in the league AND the Europa League BUT, we fail to strengthen.
Surely we can't let that happen again. It won't do us any favours in trying to keep our best players in the Summer if we don't strengthen and we should already be looking at replacing Antonio (as good a servant as he has been) in addition to anyone else

  5. Getting slightly concerned that Tim jets around the place and always ends up at Ajax?!?! Is he secretly working for feyenoord? If the bergwijn transfer comes off and he goes back to that particular well then I'm gonna try and get a job as a DoF, I can pick a team and check their squad on Wikipedia. I can also bullshit with the best of em, hence why I'd be more qualified than Moyes for transfers!!!
Im also partial to swanning around in learjets (i think?) Although I'll stoop to a Gulfstream i suppose?!?!

  6. I would be quite optimistic about this one if it happens, so long as it is under £30m

Having said that it would be nice to buy players outside of Ajax, unless this is our master plan now 😂

  7. bergwijn would allow the benrahma transfer out to happen, so might be beneficial for all parties

you have to ask though, given what has happened with more than half the attackers brought in under moyes, why any sane winger or striker would sign for us? it can't just be the higher wages?

  8. Playes well "under a progressive attacking manager" you do realise the wank stain we have in charge at the moment and his philosophy on progressive attacking football don't ya?

Another player brought in, to become disillusioned and leave in a years time for another huge loss. 👏 Brilliant analysis.

  9. Really excited about Bergwijn. Think it would be a really smart piece of business. Apparently he’s a really good character, hence the reason Ajax made him captain

  10. 3rd time unlucky? Could be one too many from the same club, remembering Kral didn’t work out. He doesn’t look like a big improvement on what we already have in that position. Hopefully this is a distraction from who we’re really interested in.

  11. I'd like to see us go in for Jan-Niklas Beste from FC Heidenheim in the Bundesliga. Has a wand of a left foot, has 5 goals with 7 assists from 14 games this season, averages a goal or an assist every other game during his career and would probably cost around £15m. Absolute bargain!

  12. Are there many home grown LW or left sided forwards that we could be looking at and despite gaps in defence especially following today with mavropanos would we want Worrall surely Kilman would be a better option and is premier league proven but 40 mill quid more ?

  13. Idk if he's improved but WestHam should look for an alternative. He's not clinical at all. I used to watch Ajax when Kudus was there and you could tell the difference is not even close.
