South Korea head coach Paulo Bento dismissed questions about Son heung-min’s slow goal scoring start at Spurs as his squad opened its training camp in Paju on Monday.

The Korean captain was at training but did not participate having just arrived from his club duty with Tottenham.

Son, the Premier League’s joint-top scorer last season with 23 goals, did not score in Tottenham’s first six Premier League games and had lost his place to Dejan Kulusevski.

But he broke his scoreless start to the new season in style on Saturday with a hat-trick as Spurs cruisd past Leicester City 6-2.

Bento said he was never concerned, noting that Son was still playing at a high-level even if he wasn’t scoring.and that goals and assist are not the only qualities of a top footballer.
