  1. I think the slight advantage England may have is ,no one knows who's the best starting eleven will be ,hard to set up your tactics against sides like that ,with France Argentina,Brazil Spain and Portugal, you know who there starting eleven will be baring injuries,

  2. From a non Englishman – If England want to win then get it right for once. Why why why is Kane so un-droppable in the "Hope" he comes good.
    Ramsdale
    Walker Stones Coady Trippier
    Dier
    Bellingham Rice
    Foden Rashford Saka

Foden is Englands best player. Give him a free role.
Saka is better on the left – watched every game for Arsenal this season and he constantly tries to get the ball onto his left foot – I cant believe nobody has picked up on this.
Rashford – On fire and when he runs at pace he is frightening. And he is scoring.
Dier – Not a popular pick but can drop into a sweeper role and allow full backs to cream forward.
Walker – Best ever PL RB – utilise him.

    Omissions:
Kane – Out of form. Kane 2 years ago would have scored 5 in the group stages alone – he isnt at the races – why is he UN-droppable. He has been rank against opposition that wont come near the level of the group stages.
McGuire – Will get found out sooner or later against decent opposition.
Pickford – Always a mistake in him and could cost England.

  3. Foden hasn't staked a claim to be a 100%starter for me upfront Kane saka rashford and no. 10 foden or mount. But not starting saka would be silly. It was a very poor Wales side

  4. The same pundits who said Iran was poor and criticized those that underperformed against US are overblowing the win over a very poor Wales side

  5. The English media as usual lol.. Play pretty much mediocre teams early in tournaments and think Rashford is all of a sudden world class πŸ˜‚ You played Wales and Iran Ffs, two very poor sides

  6. I can see Phillips starting as a 3 in midfield with rice and Bellingham. Rashford and Saka to start up top with Kane.

  7. kanu bro saka is the most in form player among those u mentioned…..saka not physical? u better watch arsenal games ……poor poor analysis of game

  8. if senegal was a premier league side, it would be fulham. they are brave enough to push their fullbacks up all the time, but mendy and gueye are two of the worst midfielder with the ball in the league. they will give it back to you on demand if you press high. saka should start, because rashford is your best trump card to change the dynamics coming off the bench.

  9. Everyone keeps telling Southgate what he should do. Funny how none are in management. He may not be dynamic but he seems to do pretty fine in big tournaments

  10. Who should start for England? The team Southgate thinks will get us past Senegal. It doesn't matter who plays and whether we play free flowing football or not, as long as we get through.

Critics, debaters, and pundits need to open their eyes and look at the wild scenes from South Korea, Japan, Morocco, USA, Australia etc who's main attribute is defending for long periods with grit and determination, to understand what it means to simply progress.

It’s utterly misguided and arrogant to β€˜expect’ that England should play 'attractive' football for 90 minutes no matter the opposition. It’s complete fantasy, utterly unrealistic and completely ignorant of the realities of tournament football and what it takes to win one.

  11. Walker right back for mbappe trent right midfield for crosses and delivery with rice and Hendo, rashford foden kane. Bellingham Saks grealish as game changers in this one either saka or rashford to start either or

  12. it depends on the game.
if you are expecting to have alot of the ball, then play foden for his give and go movement.
if it is quite a tight game play saka/ sterling for the pace and directness for added threat on the counter

  13. Wow ! A left footed player on the left and right on the right and we create goals ! Maybe the idiots (most people) who think wingers cutting in is the way to go will finally realise how stupid they are.

  14. Wales and Iran let us have a lot of the ball, I don’t think that will be the case tomorrow, it will be more like the USA game where we looked really fragile when a team decided to give it back to us and not just let us dwell on the ball for ages… the fact that the USA were despatched fairly easily by a Netherlands team that have looked extremely average does give me slight worries

  15. Whoever Southgate selects the team must be prepared to take on a committed physically strong, pacey and a team that isn't afraid to attack and strike in and around the pen area. They are also a threat for set pieces and can put in a mean cross. Look out for Sarr!

  16. My personal starting Xl….
PICKFORD (although I'd love to see Rammers play instead)
    SHAW
    STONES
    MAGUIRE
    WALKER
    RICE
    BELLINGHAM
    FODEN
    RASHFORD
    KANE
    SAKA
    In a 4-3-3.
SUBS…. RAMMERS, COADY, DIER, HENDO, PHILLIPS, MADDERS, GREALISH, MOUNT, WILSON.
What do I think Southgate will go with?
I think he'll go for safety and overload the Senegalese in the midfield with a 3-5-2. I think he'll go with…..
    PICKFORD
    STONES
    MAQUIRE
    WALKER
    TRENT
    RICE
    BELLINGHAM
    SAKA
    FODEN
    STERLING
    KANE.
