Gallagher could be someone like Azpi. A leader, who is maybe not the best player ever, but you can rely on him in every aspect on and off the pitch.

We will remain a midtable club for as long as he is the spine of the team. tactically speaking idk how our fans criticize gallagher. on one hand i agree he’s not as technical as a cm to pick out a de bruyne esque pass between the lines or score from outside the box every 2 games. but he’s also not the problem against low block teams. the problem against low block teams is 1) lack of outside the box shooters across the board. and lack of confidence to take shots.
2) lack of full backs to use overlaps and crosses more efficiently and spread the pitch better.
3) clowns like broja jackson and sterling who share half a brain cell between them and can’t lead our offense to save their life. can’t buy a goal

I know the plan of these new owners. To bring in young players. Develop them. Sell the ones they don’t want for profit. Keep the ones they do want. The problem is they want to sell Gallagher who has been our best midfielder. That doesn’t sound like “investing in potential” does it? We also have no leadership. That’s why Younes is saying they need to buy more senior players. If you want to back this process best of luck. Even if Villa don’t get top 4 they will finish above us. You go ahead and be patient. Let me know how things work out 3-4 years down the road!!

Why sell Noni for Olise? There are virtually the same player. I think Noni is one of the best players we have and should not be sold. Give the player a run in the team. Also we have enough quality center backs and don’t need to spend bank on one.
