Rodrigo broke the deadlock in the 14th minute with a composed finish from 20 yards before Julian Alvarez doubled our advantage just after the hour mark.

Phil Foden and second-half substitute Oscar Bobb had a key hand in Alvarez’s goal, linking up beautifully for the Argentinian to tap home.

The pair both forged chances of their own in the closing stages but it wasn’t to be.

Our dominance was illustrated by the whopping 938 passes completed – the second most ever recorded in the Premier League only behind our total of 942 against Swansea City in 2018.

The win completes an unbeaten 2023 at the Etihad Stadium for City, winning 25 of our 28 home matches this year.

It also set the seal on an unforgettable 12 months, with the Club becoming the first English team ever to simultaneously hold the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
