West Ham have been dealt a double blow ahead of the Premier League game against Brighton with the news that Lucas Paqueta’s calf injury will rule him out for a week. To make things even worse, Mohammed Kudus is also set to miss the Seagulls game as Ghana demand their players report for international duty by the 2nd of January.

  1. We knew about the AFCON before we bought him. It's like Christmas, every year we have Christmas day
What if he gets injured during the Brighton game?

  2. You say a calf injury isn’t a worry? Cornet says……

Fwiw, Paqueta said in another tweet that it was a little injury and he’d see us next week.

Whatever happens in Jan, we’ll be short handed it’ll be tough. I would go back to 2015/16 when Payet got hurt in November thru Feb. and we had several other starters out for that extended periods as well. Maybe Sakho among others. What did we turn around and do? Iirc, we didn’t lose a game for all of December and most of January. We drew most of them but we dug in and held our own. We need another effort like that. This lot proved last night they e for that in them.

  3. From my point of view as a Ghanaian and a westham fan I wish this AFCON should have the same schedule as the EUROPEAN CUP,we definitely can’t lose the Brighton and we already 🇬🇭 know Ghana ain’t going no where in this competition.

Losing to Comoros 176 ranked team in the world is just disgusting as a Ghanaian.
Kudus should stay and finish what he already started.

  4. The divide over Moyes has been totally perpetuated by YouTube. Sadly some people will take tittle tattle as the truth. The strangest ‘truth’ has been that he is off at the end of the season – a total myth based on conjecture but spun as reality. I think it’s a real shame that Moyes has become the narrative and not the team. The result has been a Moyes-ometer that goes up and down week by week. I’m all for critiquing individual games and the performance of the players and manager in these games but this weekly ‘save or sack’ debate has become tiresome and made us as a fanbase look daft. Moyes body of work should be appraised at the end of the season. This might result in there being less egg on the faces of YouTube contributors.

  5. if paqueta and kudus are available they will start – if not i expect to see beni and pablo on the pitch

Moyes has shown no interest in the youth set up, Mubama can't get arrested

also i thought it interesting against arsenal, when paqueta went down, i expected pablo to come on. and moyes sent on beni. i expected at least kehrer and pablo to get a run out, but neither they nor ings got a second on the pitch

and i know beni misplaced a few passes – so did everyone else – and he missed the pen, but otherwise he showed energy and some discipline helping our emerson. i still expect him to leave, but an enthused and up for it Benrahma would be a great asset over the next few weeks

  6. For some strange reason I think this is going to be a lot tougher game than the last few Knock-about's we've had lately!
Really looking forward to it because it has all the markings of being a right cracker of a match under The London lights.
Shame I'll be working that evening but will be rooting for the victory & for a great start to the New Year for the Claret & Blue. COYI!

  7. This Moyes in or Moyes out argument is getting old now, if he stays then good, and if he goes then it was the right time to go, my Dad and 75% of his mates would rather get go at end of season and really I think depending on how the season turns out It would probably be best if he left at the end, let's not forget who wanted him to replace him at Man U, I honestly think this stubbornness has been taught to him by Sir Alex, but he isn't Sir Alex, if he goes for the fa cup then theres an argument to give him another season, but lets not forget Moyes is heading towards the twilight of his career and we will need a younger manager eventually, be it next season or the season after the timing of it might matter quite abit
