Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson react to the news that Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton is benching Russell Wilson for the rest of his second season with the team and likely parting ways with him not long after. Unc and Ocho think it’s time for NFL players to stand up to the owners and GMs who are willing to make cutthroat business decisions at the drop of a dime.

  1. I dont want Russell Wilson to step one fucking foot into Pittsburgh😂 Beast Mode already told everybody how it really was. Russell Wilson aint about the steelers way one damn bit. But then again We picked up that dog killer Mike Vick so honestly the steeler way has already been lost

  2. They gave up lots of draft picks and paid him a crazy amount of money, and he's not playing good enough. If you're mad you're an idiot. If they could go back in time nobody would make that deal again

  3. Payton never wanted Wilson but the broncos loss can be the Steelers gain. Put Wilson in the best organization in pro sports and they immediately become super bowl contenders. Tomlin and Wilson would be a great pairing. His career would be resurrected.

  4. They didn't become billionaires being NFL owners. They were billionaires and bought an NFL team. I'm not saying they're not making money. But you sure as hell won't become a billionaire as just a NFL owner. And millionaire players calling the ones that makes both of you filthy rich, whiners. Even with the insane prices fans pay to watch games, get tickets and buy apparel. And there is a BIG difference with someone barely making their mortgage, if they can even afford a house. Taking a pay cut versus a multimillionaire taking a pay cut. It's an absolutely idiotic comparison!

  5. The work life of all men is hard you always got to struggle I am a 38 year veteran custom car builder been all over the USA working with professionals and every old dude in those shops are burned out from the hours the mental anguish and the low pay its crazy 🤪

  6. I will always side with the players over the owners. Give them guaranteed contracts and pensions, I watch the NFL for the players. End stop. Come on, we all know it, the players deserve more and deserve guarantees.

  7. Lol yes. Sean Payton is a punk. But these arguments suck.

What do you think the average person deals with at their 9-5? Shitty bosses that pay shitty wages. Go ahead and sit out. Plenty of college guys will take your spots

  8. It’s a business Shannon. You think being asked to take a pay cut is an incredibly offensive thing… If I get hired at a certain pay based on an expectation of performance, and then I underperform.. It makes sense the organization would do that. Especially if it is multiple quarters/years of underperformance. This is how it works in the real world dude. You’re payed what you’re worth. And Russell Wilson hasn’t even played that bad, he’s just a narcissistic/entitled fake Christian.

  9. How many Superbowl winning quarterbacks have we seen get yelled at on the sidelines by their headcoach, none. Sean Payton never liked Russ from the jump.

  10. Trying to compare an nfl salary to 100,000 is missing the point. Not to mention the fact that MANY fans dont make 100,000 a year. The point of the fans is that you make millions, to do something you love. This thing also brings you recognition and fame, or at least popularity. Taking a pay cut for that is NOT the same as taking a pay cut to work a job you hate, for people you hate, for long hours, and not have the luxury of being able to afford whatever car you want, whatever home you want, whatever luxury you want. Many nfl players can cut their pay in half and still be considered rich.

  11. Garbage time stats don't tell the full story. He's holding back the offense and it's effecting the other players. The real problem is the salary cap.

  12. It's called a salary cap. That cap is in place to prevent bigger markets from outbidding everyone. They didn't want something like the MLB, and we can clearly say that it has worked out as the NFL is number one in America. So if they ask a player for a pay cut it's bcuz they want to stay below the cap. It isn't as simple as Shannon is making it out to be. What he says sounds great but there's more to it. Russell has good numbers but if you watch a single broncos game, then you'll realize he's not worth that contract. It's a great move for the organization. Russell Wilson isn't the broncos. He's overrated and the broncos fell for the trap. I mostly blame Nathaniel Hackett, and ownership. They're the ones that wanted to give Wilson the contract. George Peyton didn't want to pay him, and Sean Payton doesn't like how he plays. It's best they move on from him. Wilson needs to stop being a crybaby and admit his play didn't justify that contract.

  13. I 100% understand and side with you fellas all day and Nightcap long. As soon as the owners (Billionaires) wanted to take public money away from schools to build their stadiums. Hell no! It's your business, you build the stadium yourselves. I roll with Russ- Signed a 49er fan!

  14. Payton is overrated as a coach and he’s going to fail in Denver. He needs to check himself because he’s not as good as he think he is. Russ is blessed and he deserves to be with a team and coach that shows him respect ✊🏾
