Nottingham Forest vs Man Utd – Premier League: TV channel, team news, lineups and prediction
Manchester United will be looking to build upon their dramatic 3-2 win over Aston Villa when they face off against Nottingham Forest at the weekend.
The comeback win against Aston Villa was the definition of ‘much more like it’ from a Man Utd perspective, but now they have to build on it and ensure the second half of the season is much better than the first has been.
A trip to face struggling Nottingham Forest presents a good chance to make it back-to-back wins at the end of 2023, exactly what Erik ten Hag will have needed. He’d be able to go into 2024 knowing there is something to work with, and he should start getting some more players back from injury, too. It may not be that simple, though, given Forest’s impressive win over Newcastle on Boxing Day.

The fact that Daniel Gore, Hannibal Mejbri and Willy Kambwala all came on against Aston Villa shows how the depth of this Man Utd squad has been affected by injuries this season, and plenty of players remain unavailable for the trip to the east Midlands.
Sofyan Amrabat, Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial could make a return, but Harry Maguire, Casemiro, Amad Diallo, Victor Lindelof, Mason Mount, Lisandro Martinez, and Tyrell Malacia are all out of the picture. Given the injuries and the good second-half display against Aston Villa, Ten Hag may be reticent to fiddle with his starting XI.

Man Utd predicted lineup vs Nottingham Forest (4-2-3-1): Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Evans, Dalot; Mainoo, Eriksen; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund.
While they haven’t been showing it as often as they should, there are goals in both of these teams and they also both know how to concede. The Red Devils will be the favourites for all three points, but Forest could certainly grab a credible draw.
Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-3 Man Utd
