His stuff was wild!
This announcer sounds like the biggest puss in baseball. I almost didn't finish the video because his sissy voice sounds so annoying.
So this is where Jomboy started? Good calls from '02, you love to see it
This commentator is all over the place misidentifying pitch types and locations
In their prime, Pedro Martinez and Greg Maddux were the very best of the era.
Notice the frustrating glances by the batters as they look back at Martinez as they head back to the dugout holding their bat (between their legs) lol.
Pedro was incredible from 98-03.
This was the first Red Sox game I ever went to. I was 11 and will remember it for the rest of my life.
That 4 seam had so much movement, all while hitting 97-99 consistently. My favorite pitcher of all time
Pitch @ 0:45 was not even close. Angel behind the dish???
What are the odds we'll ever see an immaculate game?
Goat
Keep positing Pedro!!!! We love Pedro !!!!
Pedro Martinez was the best pitcher ever. He's the only pitcher to win the Cy Young with the Expos, back in 1997. The trade that brought him to Montreal from LA was unpopular until Expos fans, including me, saw him pitch. I think I only saw him on TV, but it was still fun to watch him do his thing. His ERA was always amazing, and the control he had was unbelievable. It was sad to see him go, but at least he didn't end up with the Yankees. That would have been tragic.
So nasty with that same movement on the fastball and changeup.
And the first pitch of the ballgame in there for…a ball. Smh.
the announcer…like, respect, and all…but he called 5 pitches and got 4 of them wrong. maybe he wasn’t watching a tv screen?
I think Bugs Bunny struck out 3 of the Gashouse Gorillas off 1 pitch
These were the years where you just shut your eyes and swung against Pedro.
You'd have a better chance doing that then actually trying. Lol
Damn Ruben… at least act like you've played in the majors 😅
I was at that game, cold and windy.
That was immaculate!
He’s steroids’ kryptonite.
He almost had zero contact with a bat in that. If only that one pitch hadn't been fouled, this would literally have been 9 untouchable pitches.
Expossssssssssss
The two greatest players in Pro sports during this time period were: Pedro and Shaq. Literally the Biggest guy and Smallest guy.
Was there. It was sweet.
The fact that he started this against Ichiro makes it so much more incredible.
Pedro owned the Mariners in his career. In 14 games, he went 13-1 against them. Only time he lost against the Mariners was in his final start against them, in 2005 when he was with the Mets.
Kinda like how Randy Johnson owned the Cubs in his career = In 14 games, he went 12-0
At his peak, Pedro was the best starting pitcher I’ve seen
Simply dominant in an era where offensive numbers were massively inflated
magic
Costiglione calling the game on tv??
Best pitcher I’ve ever seen. Just dominating at his prime.
Brilliant.
Dude made Ichiro look like a fool.
John Schneider would’ve pulled him after this
I opened this video expecting to be impressed. I did not expect to open this video and see that this immaculate inning was against the leadoff three of the '02 Mariners. That's maybe the most impressive pitching feat I can imagine.
I remember being at this game. I was the ball.
That first pitch to McLemore… Oh my
Best pitcher ever. We can argue, but you'll lose.
