Hi Sam , De Gea as you say "he isnt for you " I have to agree as i feel we have a squad and it has been impacted a lot thus far , when called upon players have stepped up and been counted. Miley and Livramento have excelled due to injuries in particular ( would they have done this wothout any injuries?) . I feel we have good enough cover in Dubs and Kariese to see us ok and expect them to stand up and be counted as well. Its the work ethic, the buzz around etc that seems to get us that extra % at the moment and these keepers are no exception and will love to be part of it.
Let Dubravka and Karius prove themselves, they both used to be class goalkeepers, I trust them and happy we have so much talent to choose from in that position.
Top man Sam.. I would give dubs a chance there are not many no2s like him warming benches in PL.
I would spend the money on a forward and a centre back in January .. possibly get Phillips in on loan from city till the summer.
I'm in two minds about de gea but in Eddie we trust!!

If DeGea is not good enough for Manc’s he certainly not good enough for the Toon, Dubrovka, will step up he is ok
Dubs was a class keeper even playing in a very poor team under Bruce and like most of the lads there nowadays ALL have shown massive improvement as he surely will under Howe. We don't need anyone else IMO
De Gea is Miles better than we have
Karius is a better keeper than MD
We don't need De Gea. We've got a good No2 in Dubravka and he's waited patiently for this chance. Why would we pay his wages all this time if we've no intention of using him? We don't need an ego like De Gea ruining our dressing room harmony. Dubs is a PL quality keeper, let's stick to what we know. This is a great opportunity for Dubs to stake his claim and I've no doubt he'll grasp it, like other players have. De Gea is a no-no for me.
We don't need a new goalkeeper right now – Dubravka is a very good keeper and better on the ball than Pope.
Why would Newcastle spend money in an area with enough backup? I am certain that Eddie and his team will trust the other goalies and back them for the next months.
Im not totally against De Gea and I think he would be a good move,,,,,,however a 4th or 5th I think it is keeper on the wage bill may be a chunk out of a potential strikers wages limiting our choices for a January striker purchase if the club decides. I think we need a Striker as first port of call because how long before Isak is injured with all the game time he will get if we do well in the domestic cup competitions.
I'd put Matt Ritchie in goal before De Gea. DONT want him, total prima donna
He was on £375,000 a week. Don’t forget, when they talk about footballers wages, the amount reported is the after tax ‘take home’ pay 😮 I wouldn’t take De Gea either. Give Dubravka a shot!
I agree no De Gea for the Toon, Martin will do me. Just look at what Eddie’s gotten out of other players so why not Martin too, he deserves his chance.

I agree, we don't need De Gea at all, he's no significant upgrade on what we have.
Can’t see much sense with De Gea. We’ve got two excellent keepers (not seen Gillespie) so no need to waste money on a player we don’t need.

Martin is fine saved our arse many times in the bad old days
So far every new player that as come since the takeover has brought in to the big picture and Eddie has made them into better team players. I have no reason to believe the club will bring in any bad influenced players. Get behind any new signings regardless of where or who they might have been before joining us.

We should save our financial resources for outfield cover in January. We need some extra bodies to allow more squad rotation while this injury crisis persists.
