Hunter is referencing the rumor going around (I know you don't like rumors) is that Florida essentially fired Corey before he could leave because they found out he was looking around. Shea Dixon kind of corroborated this. Shea: "They aren’t firing one of their best recruiters out of nowhere. There’s going to be more to this. I could see him returning home. Thats my opinion."
You’re putting too much stock in the fans opinion. Fans lean to recency bias. The fact he was let go by Fla, is enough for most fans. There’s a ton of Saints fans that want the entire organization bulldozed.
I take Cory back in a heartbeat. I heard from a comment saying they don't want Raymond because the 2 years of decline under Coach O. Ridiculous comment. My opinion is Cory Raymond is probably top 3 best DB coach in the country in my opinion.
Fans complained about Corey because they felt like he always threatened to leave unless he was promoted or paid more. That is called negotiating your worth and providing for your family. People think coaches should just be happy to be at LSU and never speak up. Corey would be a great addition.
When he was let go our db room went out the door! He took 5* players with him . He needs to be hired ASAP!!!! Everyone that's on the defense coaching staff needs to be fired yesterday !!!
I'm of the opinion that DBU started with the Soul Patrol in the 70s. Those guys are the real catalyst of the legacy of great defensive back play in LSU history

Blake Ruffino praises Raymond all the time. Carter on his show praises Raymond all the time. Buddy Songy says good things about Raymond. So I don't listen to anyone on a podcast that I've heard talk bad about Cory Raymond literally so I don't know anyone pushing that narrative in media. Yes I really do listen to all of them people. The last 4 years of corey Raymond has produced some of the worst defensive back Units in college football. Hes had elite talent at DB in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023., and all of those units were terrible. Multiple 4 and 5 star DBs at florida and he failed. Seems like you need to educate yourself Matt

A lot of these folks out here screaming about stuff have no idea who the coaches past the head coach are or what their pedigree is. They’re ignorant! LSU is no longer DBU without Corey. I just wonder how they’re all going to feel when this program becomes a perennial 3+ loss team because assistants like Corey weren’t even given a chance when BK took over. Defensive strengths became weaknesses and we see where that went. Smh

Did you actually watch him coach his last few years..besides Sting in his Freshman year he did nothing afterwards. At Florida he was not good. So basically last 4 or 5 years, he did nothing but lobby to be the DC. He did well his first 6 or 7 years and declined since.

He signed Wardell Mack from N.O. to come to Florida before he seen Florida sucked and switched commit to Texas but if the fire Steeples and hire Raymond before signing day who is to say Wardell, who is from Louisiana, might commit to LSU. Raymond got him to a sorry ass Florida school. I was so happy to hear Florida fired him, optimistically hoping LSU would hire him. Steeples can’t coach or recruit apparently. Frank and Raymond would recruit the hell out of Louisiana.

Raymond would be a significant upgrade, But Ron Cooper has at least as good of dB recruits than Raymond. If there is a Godfather, it's Ron Cooper.
I think Matt House needs to go. I know LSU defense was terrible from D line up to LB besides Perkins to Dbs. No blitzing hardly during the game.
