Trent’s defense overhated
Trent did well against Doku. When you see those “dribbled past stats” and actually see what constitutes being dribbled past, you’ll never take that stat seriously again. If the player decides to run away with the ball, even if it’s backwards, it counts as “dribbled past”.
He pushed him to the byline more times than not and Doku couldn’t create anything. Tactically, Klopp had Doku locked because while it looked like he was “feasting”, he played right into where they wanted him and cut off his chance creation completely.
Another right back on the field got done by a player and it led to a goal but it wasn’t talked about.

Even the best defender needs backup against a very good and fast dribbler. They can switch and run rapidly to one side or the other. Impossible to predict. That's why it's a team sport.
