Tottenham and England star Eric Dier is the first guest of series two of the My Sporting Mind podcast, which Sporting Life is partnering with in 2021.
Speaking with host Charlie Webster (Twitter: @CharlieCW) Dier takes us back to growing up in Portugal, explains the challenges he faced when moving to play in England, and discusses how he approaches playing in the Premier League and for the national team.
Capped 45 times for England currently, Dier relives the highs and lows of World Cup 2018 as he helped drive England to a semi-final, only to be defeated one game away from the final.
The midfielder turned defender has worked under some of the best coaches on the modern era and reveals what it is like to be coached by José Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino.
He also reveals what it was like to cope through his appendicitis, how yoga helps his body and mind and shares his advice for a healthy mentality.
