I wouldnt' sign Phillips until he gets a proper haircut
If we had of been linked with him before the take over, people would be begging for ashley to buy him.
Ok he might not be getting any minutes, but if he was good enough for city to buy then why not. He seems to have all the traits EH looks for in a player.

No strikers available but one positive is Barnes is close to a return and he is one of the best finishers at the club.

phillips on loan makes a lot of sense.
Prefer this move to Neves. He's too similar to both Bruno and Tonali, Phillips would offer something different. He's more of an out and out 6, the others are definitely more of an 8.

As I understand it the reason for the transfer windows is that you can add players to your squad at that point … which means we could buy Phillips now, spend nov and dec getting him EH fit and then bring him on board in Jan
Bruno Neves with a loan to buy offer is the much better choice in my opinion. End look for a young talented striker instead! Callum isn't getting younger and injury prone and so is Isak ! We need a proper striker as backup for the rest of the season.

I honestly don’t think that Philips is even as good as the players that we already have. He’s squad level at best.
