This feels like Stephen may have jinxed it.
I think Shaw is probably our best player,certainly our most underrated.Englands performances have also dipped without him,the problem is he’s injury prone,lazy at times and inconsistent ,we need decent cover in that position and it was baffling when we let Fernandez go😏

I’d play shaw LCB until Martinez is back. It’s an easier position fitness wise for him to come back in and I think he complements either Maguire or Varane quite well.
I think fans will be severely disappointed. Somehow being injured has elevated Shaw's stock well above what it should be. He is a decent player who is good going forward but below average in defence. He won't fix everything.
He will put in some good crosses and will probably look good against Everton but once we are playing Bayern, Liverpool, Tottenham, Newcastle etc he will look average.
Sorry Ste but you have been one of his harshest critics and now you are pinning your hopes on him. Say it for what it is, wishful thinking. I get it. I don't want to admit we are just shit either … but we are. Shaw won't fix that.

I've said this before and I'll say it again.. Luke Shaw has all the positional awareness of a 5 year old girl whose never stepped foot on an 11 aside pitch before.
* I'll never be able to look past that 4th goal Luke Shaw handed Tottenham in that 6-1 loss from 3 seasons ago, hands down the worst piece of defending at any professional level I've ever witnessed *
Also, I had never in my life witness a fullback, jockey a winger all the way from the corner flag to his own 5 yard box without attempting to put 1 tackle in or block the cross until I watched Luke Shaw play against any a winger. Overall poor, very poor. If he wasn't press resistant, he'd offer absolutely nothing in today's game.
You might be expecting 5 things but the inly thing you can be sure of is he will recieve the ball then stop and look to pass it back inside. Too one dimensional. The last thing he ran at was the buffet.
I don't understand why people care about Shaw 😂 he's useless nearly every game! He's better then what we got at the moment but he has never won us games and doesn't provide anything!

I have been told to f off about Luke Shaw, some people use to say he cant cross and offer little going forward. They had a full on hard on over him almast all the time. I guess the outcome is that he really improved rather than those people being wrong. Whatever it is, im glad he is doing and now somewhat appreciated by many and even considered an important player.
