Gavi suffered an ACL and meniscus injury whilst playing for Spain against Georgia, with Spanish coach Luis de la Fuente coming under criticism for his handling of the situation. Along with Xavi and FIFA, too. We discuss the situation, as Gavi will miss the whole season at Barça with this injury, along with Euro 2024 and the Olympic Games.

  1. The players need to address the overplaying issue. De Bruyne was against the Nations League saying it was worthless. Players need to come out and speak. When you have a player that gives it all for his club after so long it makes you fall in love with the club and the player ! You are the soul of this club Gavi ! Much strength.

  2. Gavi needs to be assesed carefully during the recovery period we cannot have the luxury to lose another bright talent since fati but lets hope he is back more stronger and sharper.

  3. There's a saying that Cheaters never prosper! Maybe Barca did something or were involved in corruption and potential referee scam. No wonder we are getting out top players injured at prime time! SBOB!

  4. Maybe its because I'm a fan of both Barcelona and Spain but sadly this falls on both shoulders. This could've easily happened after the break in the game against Rayo, a game we wouldn't need our full strength against but would probably fearure Gavi in.

Gavi is a worse casualty of a bigger problem. Madrid has been seriously hit, Barca are having struggles and even outside of Spain, the EPL has reported a 15% increase in the number of injuries compared to the last 4 seasons.

  5. I am not a professional player, but played a lot in school, college and office teams.
I had my ACL in 2017, and I know the pain.
I did not go surgery, and went on through a natural process.
But I still feel the pain, and affected me a lot that I had to change my position from being an attacking midfielder to defensive midfield.
    I still fear doing manoeuvres.
Contemplating on getting a surgery now, since I want to experience my next years of life through trekking and mountaineering.

    Get well soon brother!

  6. As a Barcelona fan, I must be honest. In the last season, the only player in the team who logged more minutes than any other player was Gavi. Franki and Kissie each played 43 games, while Pedri participated in 36. However, even before the ACL injury took place, Gavi was consistently on the field. The responsibility doesn't solely lie with the Spain national team; Barcelona, too, shares the blame. Gavi desperately needs some rest.

  7. I’m super worried about him . The ACL Is the worst possible injury for a football player . I tore mine and you just never feel that same confidence when you run cause there’s the possibility of a re tear I’m devastated for him 🥺

  8. Sad to see this. Great video. Looking forward to Frenkie returning this weekend hopefully, but Gavi has so many intangibles it will be hard to replace.

  9. my thoughts? I freaking hate international games! They're boring, the level is horrendous and they only bring risk of injury. I think I'm gonna boycott next round international tournament.
But most of all, I feel so incredibly bad for Gavi. I admire him on all aspects of football. In him I see a lot of resemblance with Puyol. A fighter and a true child of the club. I convert to a faith to pray for a full and sound recovery

  10. It’s amazing how no one sees what’s happening It’s something they hold against Catalan players it’s funny how Spanish players do get the rest but Catalan players are chosen to get wasted

  11. This is sad. He is my favorite player at the club after inesta. I wish him full recovery. How ever you can't blame Spain and fifa when we scheduled a friendly with club america 1 day after a laliga game in December to earn money. If anything we should cancel that frindly and then ask Spain why are they playing our players too much

  12. Quick question: why is Barça playing a friendly game on the 22nd of December a day after a league match? Is that game organized by UEFA or FIFA? Hypocritical campaign against the governing bodies, clubs are organizing more games for themselves especially in the pre-season just to get more money to pay the exorbitant wages of the players. If the players want less games, then they should reduce their wages and FIFA or UEFA won't seek more TV money for clubs.

  13. We as fans to be blamed too.. we demand more and more from players to see more often so UEFA/FIFA listened to us and simply increase the number of games/competition for them to play for our entertainment sake.

Just few years ago Europa Conference League was not even in existence. And now the expansion of the current World Cup / Club World Cup format is also a testament to that.
