Against Man City, Gegenpressing works. But it needs to be playing smart whenever City has the ball because Pep understands that passing around in their diamond formation frustrates Liverpool and causes fatigue to set in if we don't get the ball back early. It's alway passing, passing & passing in the centre and then with quick succession they will launch it to the wide players. Seen this for a couple of seasons already and if the coaching staff of Liverpool do not get this, it means disaster! to me the best way to counter their wide players is having a the ball pushed further than what the wide players expects. When city players have to chase the balls, their tactics gets disjointed. Hence, pressing! This is my analysis YNWA

I must admit I was surprised how well Livepool players with theier national teams did, scoring goals for fun, especially Szoboslai, whose Liverpool performance has been poor lately. Clearly, if they play poorly today, they will claim tiredness. But I do not accept that especially if City play better than us. Thus there has to be a different issue within the club.

Well! That's a good result for an away match. It's just a shame that Nunez was so timid at shooting. I really hoped that after the break and 3 goals, he would be shooting on sight.
