Poor Performance by India | India 0-3 Qatar | FIFA World Cup qualifier

Qatar made light work of India in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifier at the Kalinga stadium, Bhubaneswar – winning 3-0 thanks to goals from Mustafa Meshaal, Almoez Ali and Yusuf Abdurisag.

The first goal came in the fourth minute when Meshaal seized on a loose ball as India let the ball pinball around inside their own box and smashed into the bottom corner. This had been preceded by Akram Afif missing an open goal from four yards out – and the goal merely underlined the strong start that Qatar had made. In front of the visiting Arsene Wenger, Carlos Queiroz’s men put on quite the show early on but couldn’t double their advantage in the opening half.

Amrinder Singh’s woeful distribution from the back meant Qatar kept coming at the Indian defence in waves: they just couldn’t make the pressure count. Afif was the prime culprit as he dillied and dallied with his finishing, allowing Sandesh Jhingan (twice) and Rahul Bheke (once) to get super, albeit last ditch, tackles in. Afif’s delivery from setpieces meanwhile caused all kinds of trouble as Qatar kept sending free headers high and wide.

  1. I don't know why Anirudh Thapa and Shubasish Bose plays for Indian Team. Both of them are disasters. Both of them kept losing ball when the team gained possession.

It's a bitter truth that Indian team can only defend but can't score and yesterday they weren't able to defend as well.

  2. Bhai yarr ab time aa gaya Ausian players ko lane ka Malaysia ko dekho yar unho ne bahar se player lai or vo unke group me top pe hai

  3. Very negative review and over critical analysis
Rather than "half chances" ,they were clear chances and we would have scored 3 goals.
    One from apuia
    One from thapa
    One from sahal

Yes ,we are missing in final third and big reason is not using those chances as good advantage by taking direct shots

The main reason is we do not get these kind of experience in domestic football due to presence of foreign players in key positions.

Even after conceding a goal in 3 minutes, we won the ball, played passing football confidently and tried to win every ball

Yes we have to improve, play with better psychology and try to win fouls

We have to protest against fouls, which I observed the team was not standing up to. Whereas Qatar was making unnecessary play acting and stopping gameplay when India was at advantage

One Qatar player pressed his boot on Thapa/Chhangte ankle and India did not protest

Rahul bheke surprised us. Subhasish was rock solid

Our clearances were not good and Sandesh Jhingan's lack of creative gameplay from the back was putting additional pressure

We have to improve on all these

  4. Bhai jab ham ball pass karte hai tab aisa lagta hai chote bachhe ko pass kar rahe hai bilkul bhi power nahi rahati ball passing ke time hamari

  5. I was watching India Vs Qatar after not watching our national team for years, and I was surprised by the improvement level. Apuia stood out with his calmness and confidence. Not playing GSS was a big mistake

  6. India showcased an impressive display of football today, exhibiting a strong pressing game and embracing an attacking style. Notably, there was a conscious effort towards possession football, marking an improvement in ball control compared to previous years. The strategic shift to play through the center, as opposed to relying on left and right channels against Kuwait, demonstrates the team's evolving versatility. The refined football being played is truly commendable. Go Team India!

  7. Thoda strong team ke sath hota h india looose karta h ektarfa are 1 goal se quatar jitta toh koi bat ni 3 goal 😏lekin i suport india always india ko opposition team dekh kar khelna chahiye ki kaisa h oppostion team. Waisa hee agresive khelenge tab na hoga kuch samne wla ko pata chalna chahiye
