I understand these games against NZ are there due to 100 years of celebration which is great in that regard, however as I understand the Socceroos have only played one game against a team outside Asia since the last world cup – Peru. More than anything they need experience against high quality opposition with different styles of football to be even remotely ready for a world cup in just of over 2 months.
