Given the sqaud we’ve got and the horrors they’re going through now should probably make them strong enough for the championship and promotion, give or take whoever goes and is sold and such. I’d like to win the title honestly.

I’m saying if because it’s not guaranteed yet it just very feels like it is. It’s also not guaranteed of going straight back up given our usual time to be promoted again and Watford/Norwich.

I think we have a lot of rebuilding to do. If memory serves there’s a fair few out of contract – notably McBurnie. Think we lose Archer back to Villa (though get a fee).

You’d hope the Anel / Trusty defence (Egan out of contract?) and Vini / Hamer midfield gives us a strong spine.

But twice now I’ve seen us go down and thought we’re comfortable to comeback. Both those sides that went down were better than what this current one is showing.

Possibly, but i don’t really want to. We’ve been a victim of our own success and the old and outdated foundations we’re built on has seen us crumble away, which is why we needed to bank the money and hope a takeover can be sorted.

We’ve got some good young players coming through and a few of them will be in our first team next year. If we can keep hold of Hamer and build a team around him and blaster, actually get our players under good long term contracts we can hopefully be in a strong and healthy position in a few years

This season is proving that without some rich new owner(s) that there’s no real point in being in the PL.

Still don’t understand why as a top Championship Club last season and then promotion to PL there doesn’t appear to be any interest in buying SUFC. Are the finances that bad or is there an unrealistic price tag on the club? This question doesn’t seem to be asked by the media?

  4. I don’t think so, there isn’t the strength in the squad, n or the finances to improve it

  5. Not with the current manager. Haven’t we also got about 10 players out of contract in the summer? Cant face another summer of giving Fleck & Osborn new deals again 😔

  6. Yeah think we’ll bounce back up next season or the season after. Looks like we have some promising youngsters coming up through the academy. Need to get players locked down into contracts and use parachute payments to stabilise the club.

  7. Not with the current owner, manager and 14 players out of contract. Add to that a demoralising season of losses and heavy defeats, no, I don’t think we have a good chance of going straight back up.

  8. I think we’d stand a decent chance of getting straight back up, just like any relegated side. The gap is getting bigger every season. This squad is good enough for top end Champo level. Get a couple of contracts tied down, get some of the kids in; Arblaster looks ready for next year. Marsh, Brooks, all that lot. Get Doyle back from Wolves!

I’m excited already! Wake me up in August.
