He shouldn't even be close to the England squad. He's miles off in sharpness, quality and intelligence.
So according to Southgate, Phillips needs to be playing to make it into the squad for euros. But what about Maguire?

Phillips should have received a red card, 100%. Southgate is VERY fortunate that Phillips did not receive a red card. Otherwise, he would have come under a ton of pressure for playing a defensive center midfielder who hardly gets a kick at club level and was consistently late to challenges all game against Italy starting from the first few minutes of the game.
If he wasn't so lazy he'd get game time. He walks on the pitch, plays easy passes and soesn't hold the ball and wait for a better pass. HE is the reason it osn't working at Man City, not the other way around. He is MASSIVELY overrated. I wish him luck but if he is gonna drag City through the mud then he needs to look in the mirror first.

This really annoys me ,players are quite happy to break their contracts,walk out on their previous team,sign for a top team,more money,but when they're not an automatic pick,they spit the dummy! If you're not happy,pay your contract up !
